  1. My job wasn’t sports but it was very much a team oriented proposition. I wouldn’t know how to argue against the track record critics. I’m with them I think maybe the question is: is Tepper capable/incapable of learning, of overcoming his compulsion to impart his vision via firing people. Question mark. Certainly he understands that that is not ideal. To have your prize draft pick worked and trained in a nice continuous arc is the ideal, bi-annual disruption is not at all the ideal. Even when it is disrupted with the best of intentions. He has to figure this out sooner or later, right?
  2. Until he is a total liability, he should play out his contract since it is basically guaranteed. In the case of him repeating 2023, we do not give him starting status for 2025, and we move to upgrade the position. But he will know the system. It is simple: insist he honor the contract until it benefits you for him to not be bound by it. I think if he stinks it up again, you salvage whatever value you can any way you can and that is likely the only way.
  3. Looking good. I was obligated to attend an annual party in the next town and there was a whole pig which was great but no killer chicken like that.
  4. Welp it will be one or the other. They will be vindicated in their judgement or crucified for the lack of it. They are new I am giving benefit of the doubt for now. We have enough mistakes from Fitterer and Tepper et al to be skeptical for sure but I’ll stick with the 2023 mistakes as my primary concern (QB) over whether we start a 2nd round rookie at C. It needs to be seen but that is where I lean. For real, with this guy at QB being totally unproven, and you being tasked with bringing him into viability, would you feel that putting him under a raw rook would be the favored move?
  5. I am not making this judgement personally but maybe we are purging under performers or people with opposing philosophies and he is at the bottom of the ‘to do’ list. We don’t know why at this time. Maybe it will come out. He isn’t a key player in much, being VP of...
  6. I was OTR as saying I did not see them taking a C high. Like Vegas, I wasn’t taking a side necessarily, more just speculating on what they would do. My deciding factor was I did not believe they wanted a rookie starting there. I don’t see anything screaming they are stupid and feel like it is a fairly calculated risk based on their experience. I won’t condemn it before I see it, about that simple.
  7. I'll just say, he was a great player in his career. Seemed to be a quality individual. So why would they be opposed to trying him out in his home area post playing career? Because he was drafted by losers?
  8. In the broad sense of a lot of turnover, yep.
  9. Usually this type of thing is someone asking for a favor, getting a tryout. Who is here that was connected with him when he was in Pittsburgh, besides Tepper? (okay maybe he was not not there who am I thinking of?) Somehow I got this in bullet points and can’t find how to change it. Oh well...
  10. In the absence of info, yeah. We don’t know it had anything to dop with Tepper. We were told nothing. If it were health related, we might have been told. But maybe not. We just do not know why he is no longer in the job.
  11. The downside to signing two guards to big deals is, if Icky struggles again, can’t slide him inside. It has gotten progressively tougher to project LOT coming out of college I know that. We are going to find out about him this year. It might need to be a thing where you draft a flyer later every year until one works.
  12. Who are the guys next to him? I don’t remember which of the newer players it was but a couple are listed as the same size as Young. I was waiting for a chance to see them side by side.
  13. Okay, Phil said that? But not in that clip did he? I thought it was a pretty good description these little guys’ games. Bryce is almost too slow for that though.
  14. I agree with Madden, 100. Bryce needs to start all games this year no matter which end is up. Only exception is if he gets injured and we start winning. What can you do then? Keep him out and keep winning. Or if not too much damage is done, get him back on the field ASAP.
  15. Responding to faking height. If you had some tightly wound braids on top of your head, be about the only thing that comes to mind that might get you a little extra.
  16. It'a called grasping at straws, any port in a storm, desperation inducing confusion and panic, that sort of thing. I don’t have any idea if he can do it. It may just be a dumb idea that could never work. Which fits the general situation. I was going on the thought that if there are no bad habits to unlearn... it may be a shorter way to get something that isn’t that meander, the crappy footwork, the hitch... the no driving the ball... which I'm a broken record on it but that sort of thing is no easy fix at that level of competition.
  17. Adapt or die. They need a little extra than what’s in their old books.
  18. They have to get that hitch out. I have said, with no credentials past common sense, if they teach him the 3 5 7 step thing they may be able to avoid the hitch he has in his footwork in the gun. He meanders and lollygags with that 'scan the field casual retreat' that he loves... and then has the hitch when he does move to throw. It is no good and hard to change. But if they do that straight up dropback and teach him That... maybe no bad habit. Like y’all are saying. Plant, throw. lol then all you have left to worry about is he can’t see the field and that 'on the weak side' arm.
  19. I never saw a cooler play than in that bowl game. He never really lived up to that but hey, still makes some plays. He was like, ‘nah fug y’all we win’ end of story.
  20. I think we have maderr some improvements. Stumble to 6-11.
  21. The day before it gets to me that bad, which they are very close, you will see my last complaint. And no one will care. I am 69. My dad played college ball and coached high school so I have been around the sport. Did not need the money to go to college at the time, it wasn’t THAT expensive then, in state, and turned down a couple of smaller school offers as the thought of having to live in the dorms with coaches up my butt ALL year not just football season when realistically I was not going tp make the NFL. It goes back to my measureables putting me where Young’s put him. I saw him throw. He has a ton of other stuff working against him. Why is this even a question?
  22. I bet anything there were people who would not have hIm in the first round. They couldn’t come out and say it. Some have physical standards. If I were running a team we would miss on some people because of it but we would have established and quantified physical characteristics that need to be met. All wow he so smart and cute ...with zero 'hey this is the NFL we are talking about'. Political analogies are abundant but I am not allowed to articulate that on this ---- --- forum.
  23. All for it. They have wasted so many of my remaining years to enjoy the team and the sport, and they just keep extending that window like it is no big deal. I do not have a lot of years left. Get the fug on with it.
