Cool... we get it... you're in midair... after jumping off the cliff... so what are you actually trying to bring to the conversation? Besides... you know... typing like this and being in unconsolable despair?

Thinking about the rest of the schedule

I'm ready to replace both coordinators. Because I'm ready to fire Matt Rhule barring a dramatic turnaround. -

We need to be smarter about match up football. Yes, Burns and Reddick are very good pass rushers. But against teams who have the game plan and ability to cram the ball down our throats, Gross-Matos and Fox probably need to be our base DEs with Burns and Reddick used more strategically as situational pass rushers. I'm not saying take them out of the game, but basically those guys should probably be pretty much splitting snaps with Gross-Matos and Fox in those match ups. -
We can compete with Cam even when the D straight up sucks. That's what I'm saying. Not trying to make you feel better.
-
Now imagine what today's game looks like with Sam Darnold at QB.
-
Bingo. It's the coaches' job to get the players to do their job. If they can't, then they're not good coaches.
-
Funny how the WRs can suddenly catch again now that they no longer have to worry about Darnold throwing them into trainwreck hits.

I'm not ready to just move on from Brady. I'm ready to move on from Rhule too.

Fug thinking about the playoffs. A big part of why we're flailing is because this team is way too quick to start feeling themselves. We had Fitts and Rhule openly talking about playoffs at 3-0. We proceed to faceplant. We sign Cam and beat the hell out of a badly shorthanded Cardinals team and then we faceplant against a bad Washington team. This team has to learn to just take things one game at a time.

You made a decent point here. Rhule got taken to school by the HC Tepper fired to hire him and his D he's spent all of our resources for the last two years building made a QB cut to pursue the likes of Teddy and Darnold (LOL!) look like prime Drew Brees. Yikes. NOT a good look.
-
Rhule got sold HARD on Rhule but without strong indications that he's developing as a HC, I wouldn't call it "patience" to keep him. I'd call it hard headedness. I raised the concerns when we hired Rhule. The guy never beat any actual good college teams. I figured it up and I think he was something along the lines of 2-19 vs. ranked teams off the top of my head with the two ranked wins coming against ECU and Navy teams that just happened to blip into the rankings when they faced Temple. He never beat a ranked opponent while at Baylor.

People (including myself) were quick to crown Brady after the dramatic offensive turnaround at LSU, but in hindsight I think that was more of a condemnation of their OC's prior offensive system that had last been seen when football was played wearing leather helmets. They had a stud NFL QB. A guy who already looks like the best WR in football as a rookie. Multiple NFL OLs. A legit starting NFL RB. I mean, they were fuging LOADED with talent. Hindsight being 20/20, yeah what they did was impressive as hell but it's not as shocking as it looked at the time simply because the turnaround was so dramatic.

I really thought limitations at QB had a lot to do with it. If we don't see a big improvement next week with Cam having adequate time with the team to start really opening up the playbook then I'm done with him too. Though honestly, Rhule has made him completely change his entire offensive approach. Brady needs to go to Matt and say, "Hey, now that we have an actual QB, will you let me actually go back to running the offense you brought me here to run?"
-
Yep. We've spent too many resources on THIS team and it has left use absolutely strapped for draft capital next April.
-
Honestly, Kris Jenkins minus the weight and motivation issues was what I was expecting out of Brown. You can go back and look. That was the comp I always made for Derrick Brown.
-
That's the type of impact you're looking for taking a DT in the top 10. Some would call Star disappointing but at least he was dominant against the run. Brown has just been... well, just kinda there. He hasn't really stood out in any particular way. If he was a 3rd rounder we'd be happy but he was a top 10 pick.
-
Cam was pretty damn good today for a QB with about 10 days with the playbook. I thought most of Brady's situational play calling issues were probably due to limitations at QB but now I'm starting to come around to the idea that he just sucks at situational play calling. We lost this game on D though. WFT did whatever they wanted and dominated the TOP. 190 rushing yards allowed and a 73% completion percentage. Yikes. You're going to win very few games when you allow that type of offensive efficiency.
-
I LOVED the Brown pick but man, not gonna lie he's been underwhelming. Not the impact player I was expecting. You don't want a "good" DT in the top 10. You want a game wrecker. We haven't seen that from Brown.
-
Evidently it's talking billionaires out of millions.
-
Yep. If you want to try to run to borders against us, best of luck. We have the speed to feast on that. But if you line up heavy and keep it between the tackles... uh oh.
-
We can't stop the power run. That's glaring.
-
Honestly, Fitts can GTFO too. Go hire a guy you trust to he a real GM, not just a paper pusher for a college coach calling the shots.
-
Thank you. Seriously.
-
We have a glaring weakness that we evidently can't fix. Not sure this ranking is going to hold. Especially if the offense can continue to be a threat forcing teams to actually try to score and not just play it safe knowing Darnold can't beat them.
