Did Tepper ixnay #keeppounding chant?
LinvilleGorge replied to RenoCarolina's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would honestly just ban your whining ass if I didn't think it would actually be a liberation for you. All you ever do is whine about other people actually having opinions on things. Any time you spend here has to be miserable for you and that actually comforts me. -

Makes sense to me. The one thing billionaires want more than anything else is to add another zero to their bank account. -

NC by and large has always been a college sports town except for early on in during the time of the Hornets and that was highly likely just feeding off the popularity of college basketball in the state. I can't even remember meeting anyone who gave a single flying fug about the NBA in over a decade. -

Matt Rhule explains deactivating Deonte Brown

The other guys suck equally at everything. I guess that's still "versatile". -
Thoughts on Elflein, our O-line, the jets and the aints.
LinvilleGorge replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, our OL wasn't very good but the Jets' OL was barely present. They're either REALLY bad or our DL us considerably better than I expected and I expected it to be pretty good. Maybe it's a bit of both. -
Seems to me that Rhule's goal was to become an NFL HC. Had he wanted to be a powerhouse program college HC, he could've stayed put at Baylor and waited for that opportunity.

Gettleman brought Smitty's vengeance and pettiness to the front office. Way too many of his personnel decisions had the look of a dick measuring contest that he was out to win regardless of whether or not it was in the best interest of the team. I thought it was an awful decision when he was fired, but the more we learn the more I'm glad he got fired. Now, that decision to bring Hurney back... yeah, that's a whole 'nother story. Speaking of dick measuring contests... that should've been one that Rivera was hell-bent to win. He should've told Gettleman to go fug himself. You might assemble the roster, but I manage the roster the roster that you assemble.

I knew CMC had a lot of touches, but yikes....

That wasn't what you were arguing. -

"Substantial contact"? I think the operating definition of "insubstantial contact" is probably "contact being absorbed by someone other than yourself". Hell, anyone who's ever played sports knows that the visual impact of a play often doesn't tell the story of what that play FELT like. Sometimes you hop right back up from highlight reel hits while a rather mundane looking play hurt like hell. -
This is super weak. "Keep Pounding" is one of the long-standing Panthers traditions that definitely needs to stay.

Christensen and Brown "close to contributing"
LinvilleGorge replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm a little jaded. I've been eating our OL "cooking" for years and I think I have dysentery now. Seattle's OL situation isn't any better. -

I'd feel better about them fixing it if their vet FA additions didn't look like doormats and yet evidently still considered better options than the rookies they drafted. -

Seeing Elflein and Daley in particular play might be speeding up some timelines. -

The bait is in the water and the hammer is in hand. Just over here warming up my arm like -
I get it, you like PFF's grading system and wanna stump hard for it, but c'mon man... There's a reason why CMC is considered one if not the very best all around RB in the NFL and there's a reason why our coaches have a hard time not feeding him like a goose headed for the table as foie gras.

I don't disagree. That's why I really liked the draft pick and was disappointed when he got released last year. He flashes the talent, not sure what the issue(s) is that's keeping him off the field.

This. This is how Chinn should ideally be used. Chancellor was essentially allowed to be what he was - a LB/S hybrid wrecking machine. We need a legit FS to free him up to do this. It doesn't have to be prime Earl Thomas, but prime Earl Thomas would be

Panthers are 3.5 point home underdogs to Saints.

It probably has a lot to do with the historic inconsistencies of Winston. We saw good Jameis this week so history dictates we see bad Jameis next week. -
It's what I've been saying the whole time. We had a goalline fumble and two missed throws to wide open receivers in the endzone. That's not on the OC. Had we put up 40 points like we should have only the most devout of complainers would be complaining about the offensive output.
