  1. He hasn't proven he's not. His career in NY resembled Carr's in Houston. Carr never bounced back. I'll believe Darnold will when it actually happens. History says it almost certainly won't. It's not what Panthers fans want to hear, but that's reality. The exact same things were said about Carr. He has the talent. Houston failed him. It's not his fault. His supporting cast sucked. His OL sucked. His coaches sucked. All of that was true, but he also still very much sucked outside of Houston.
  2. Hell no it wasn't and I said so at the time. We got exactly what we should've known we were getting.
  3. We went 4-11 with Teddy. Was that worth $40M in cap space we'll never get back?
  4. Teddy is trash and we paid him like a mid-level starter. If you're going to be forced to start a QB the level of a Teddy or Kyle Allen, go with the guy that's going to cost you a fraction of the price. If we had it to do over again, that's what we would've done. I'd bet money on that.
  5. QBs the caliber of Teddy and Kyle Allen do. That's why we had to eat a good chunk of his salary to offload him. He's only hitting the Broncos for $4.4M this year.
  6. Neither are good enough. That's what is important. Allen had the very key advantage of being a fraction of the cost. So yes, Allen at his contract was definitely better than giving Teddy $63M over 3 years.
  7. I said it at the time of the signing. We just paid a bunch of money for no appreciable upgrade over Kyle Allen.
  8. What would've been the difference between Teddy and Kyle Allen? Hell, honestly Kyle Allen is better.
  9. Let's not get too cocky. Darnold's career best is 19 and he threw 9 last season.
  10. Because dumb. I'm afraid we repeated that mistake with the Darnold trade.
  11. Moton has been our best OL for awhile now. Norwell had surpassed Turner by the time he left in free agency. I'm not sure that Turner was ever our best OL after getting paid to be that.
  12. I don't disagree on a lot of stuff you said, but it had been a long time since Trae Turner had been in the conversation for being our best OL.
  13. I don't think we'll play Christiansen at LG if we think he's the future at LT. At best, Erving is a stop gap. I think they'll want Christiansen preparing for that spot as soon as he's ready.
  14. Of course it is. Everyone else in the building was talking about a five year plan. Hurney was the one on a one year contract needing a borderline miracle to have any hope of getting an extension.
  15. Erving was the vet bandaid signing. Christensen is the future. Hopefully the future is sooner rather than later. That's the plan anyway...
  16. They're gonna blame it on Hurney. I would too. But we all know Teddy wouldn't have been here if Rhule and Brady didn't enthusiastically sign off on it.
  17. The perfect response would simply be something along the lines of, "Teddy worked hard here and gave us the heat he had. He's free to say whatever he wants about his time here. Meanwhile, he threw for more redzone TDs last year as a Panther than he has in any other season in his career."
  18. I think trading him for scraps after one season says it all.
  19. Because he sucked in the redzone and he knows it. Remember when he blamed Joe Brady for getting the play call in late when he missed DJ wide open in the endzone? Dude's a clown. It was the perfect play call and he just wildly missed as easy of a TD pass as an NFL QB gets.
  20. I highly doubt they'll respond. I'd be disappointed if they do. Just move on.
  21. Teddy has always been terrible in the redzone. He just doesn't throw TDs. He's too conservative. Did all his other coaches never work on that stuff either? Just cash your check and go.
  22. Used to stop in quite a bit on the way back from snowboarding.
  23. So Kaep made a business decision. I don't blame him for that. Then he priced himself out of the market. There's no need to bring a guy in for a workout if you had preliminary talks with his agent and know you're not paying what he wants. Kaep had his price and no one wanted to pay it so he pursued other opportunities ironically largely created by no one wanting to pay his price. I don't put any blame for that situation on anyone.
