CMC with the great block pickup to save that play.

They held again.

Every time we make a kick of any sort I'm mildly surprised. LOL!

Hell yeah. Nice drive.

SHAQ!

Our punter looked all world in preseason. He's looked straight trash in the regular season.

Terrible decision on the throw to Arnold, but that was blatant DPI on the target to Moore.

Overall, I probably don't disagree. The overall offense is MUCH more talented. Cam was that offense.

Week 1 Post Script: Zach Wilson injured

My one reservation was the long history of OSU QB failures in the NFL but that was my reservation with Brian Burns being an FSU edge rusher too. -

Fields I would've absolutely taken but agreed on Jones. -

NFL punishment is one thing but I doubt even Brett Favre would make it through a season of games featuring the level of beat down we out on him in week one. -
Beat defense but Daniels is trash and will keep them from competing with Bama. They lose by three scores.

Winning the injury lottery is a big part of competing for SBs. It's hard to win the SB when that sumbitch bites you.

I think we may have had Brown focusing a bit too much last year on upgrading his pass rush at the expense of his run stuffing. I expected him to be a dominant run stuff right out of the gate and a work in progress as a pass rusher. IMO, he was a better pass rusher than run stuffer as a rookie and that was surprising. This year he's just looking like a flat out monster.

Seriously. It can change in a HURRY.

Yep. Still gotta actually beat them, but at the end of the day all you can do is play who shows up. God knows we've been on the wrong side of this equation plenty in the past.

We've been getting VERY fortunate with the injury/COVID bug early on this season.

When you're spending the vast majority of your resources on the defensive side of the ball and you've historically built your teams around defense, it's not exactly a stretch to say that it looks like you're trying to follow the same formula. I just think it's hilarious some of you guys are getting all emotional about this like I'm knocking the guy. It's just the way he builds his programs. I'm just stating the obvious. He says Snow is the best football coach he's ever met. Hell, I'm starting to believe him on that. Giving the best football coach you've ever met the best possible tools to work with isn't exactly a bad strategy.

Snow is extremely legit and I said it last year when people were ragging on the D without being able to see the significant roster holes he was working with. But, 8 consecutive draft picks spent on the defense including two top 10 overall picks and signing last year's 3rd ranked sack artist certainly haven't hurt efforts. Rhule is clearly trying to build the Panthers the same way he build Temple and Baylor - dominant defense paired with decent offense. I know we can field a competitive team that way, but I'm not certain we can compete for titles that way. We shall see.

This too. The OL hasn't been very good overall, but they've been a lot better in pass protection (probably because we've put so much focus on getting the ball out quickly) than they have been in run blocking. It's especially obvious in short yardage situations. We can't get any push going what so ever.

Our non-CMC RBs have combined for 29 snaps (26 for Chuba) and 10 total touches (all to Chuba). We honestly don't know very much at all about them.
