Greg Olsen nominated for Emmy over Tom Brady
LinvilleGorge replied to jfra78's topic in Carolina Panthers
Being forced to manage the finances of the organization in franchise mode fuging sucks. I don't care about ticket prices, concessions, merch, etc. I just want to play GM and coach. But I have tons of cap spade and I can't use it because the team isn't generating a profit. I don't care. Let me turn that poo off and just go GM mode. Previous editions I could. -

I'm not even being a Homer when I say that Greg is a way better announcer than Brady. -
He's a special teamer and he should fire his agent if he truly had 17 teams vying for his services and he signed that contract. Me thinks that the 17 teams might have been a wee bit of a stretch. LOL That deal was probably the 2025 veteran minimum for a player with five years of NFL experience. You're telling me you had 17 teams putting offers on paper and you couldn't get any of them to move off of vet min? Fired.

He sucks and better safeties will be cut through camps elsewhere.

Wow. If he's getting a green room invite they're expecting him to go a lot higher than I was assuming. But it's a copycat league in a lot of ways and with Jalen Hurts just winning a SB there are probably going to be teams looking at Milroe and thinking they can turn him into Jalen Hurts and to be fair, Milroe at Bama pretty much looked just like Hurts at Bama. Hurts didn't turn into a legit passer until Lincoln Riley got a hold of him and transformed him from a guy who looked like he needed to switch positions into a Heisman candidate and 2nd round pick and honestly he would've gone significantly higher in the draft had that Bama tape not existed. It was hard to reconcile his Bama tape and his OU tape.

I don't love that Hendrickson is 30 but if we could get an instant impact top tier plug and play guy and still get Mykel Williams and basically only give up a 3rd? I mean... damn. But we all know that this would basically guarantee that Jalon Walker is the next coming of LT because that's just how Panthers luck goes. LOL

Ryan Fowler: Panthers hosting Texas A&M Shemar Stewart

Yeah, loved Morgan as a player but our front office decisions since he's been here have been... well, oh wee mayne -
Honestly, this move "working out" would probably mean he secures a spot on the PS for a year or two while we try to turn him into a football player.

I'm fine with it. It probably won't work but whatever. It's all potential reward virtually zero risk.

Panthers bring in DT Walter Nolen for 30-visit
LinvilleGorge replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Odds are that one of these two busts. Seems like anytime there's two DL on the same draft out of the same school it turns out that one was the real deal and the other one was riding his coattails. -

Oh, the odds of this organization fuging up anything is always a pretty safe bet. LOL -

Just don't be the least bit surprised when it fails because all those other stops along the way were probably thinking that same thing. It's the hot girl mugshot mentality. "I can fix her" they all say. LOL -

6 schools in 7 years or whatever it is for a guy with his talent level is one helluva red flag though. When problems keep following you around you'll probably find the real problem in the mirror. At the end of the day, wherever you go there you are. -

I mean, NTs are already basically a unicorn. You're looking for a guy who is big enough and strong enough to hold up snap after snap with two 300+ pound NFL athlete technically proficient people movers trying desperately to move you off that spot. That is a HARD guy to find that can hold his ground snap after snap in those scenarios. It's the trade off of the 3-4. Teams love it because it puts more speed on the field and 3-4 OLBs are easier to find than 4-3 DEs but that NT is a hard spot to fill. -

There's a reason why prototypes exist. It obviously doesn't mean that someone who doesn't fit can't succeed but it's going to be harder to pull off. But yeah, if I'm looking for a NT I'm ideally looking for someone built like Vince Wilfork not Shy Turtle's 6'3" 300. That's fine for a three tech if you have quickness and burst but man, it's gonna be HARD to hold it down at the nose at that size and we saw that play out last year. -

Yet Evero seems to like lighter, more mobile NTs. Sure, if you can find a lighter, quicker NT who can still hold up to double teams that's awesome but that seems like looking for a unicorn. -
Ward 1, Hunter, maybe 2. Per McShay

I'm still shocked the Steelers were dumb enough to take Kenny fuging Pickett in the 1st round. Holy poo that dude is trash. I ain't never in my life seen a QB get thrown by the ball until Kenny Pickett did that poo. LOLOLOL -

Oh wee mayne. Yeah, I'd just cross him off my draft board. -

I mean, we basically fug up everything. Most of the guys we draft are as good as they're ever going to be on draft day. We've been both terrible at drafting and terrible at player development for years now. -

The difference is that everyone knows that Schwesinger projects as an off ball LB where as most think Walker can be an EDGE. He did both at UGA. Hell, I wouldn't be opposed to to drafting Walker at 8 and Schwesinger at 57 if he's there. -

He could. IMO he's a lot more likely to follow the path of most workout warriors who didn't produce in college. -

And that's not factoring in the "daddy factor" complication. You know Deion is gonna be sticking his nose in if things aren't going according to his plan. So you have to both fall in love with the (IMO) marginal prospect and deal with the helicopter dad with a huge microphone. Yeah, that'd be a hard pass from me. -

I could definitely see several OTs going high. Yeah, I just never got the hype with Sanders as an NFL prospect. Good college QB there just wasn't anything about his traits and not much about his game that I saw translating to the NFL. He just looks like the classic "good college player who doesn't translate to the NFL" IMO.
