Nightmare scenario for them if Bears score again here. You have a young QB making his first start looking like a deer in headlights, you can't fall behind multiple scores and be forced to play catch up.

If you're "competing" with nothing to gain you might just be dumb. The NFL has devalued the combine for top prospects by showing them through their drafting that they don't need to see them do the combine drills.

I wasn't all that high on McCarthy as a prospect but he ended up in a great spot. If that offense and surrounding talent can make Sam Darnold look good if you flop it's on you.

It's the Panthers. Evero was a holdover from the last staff that was assembled by Tepper and I'm sure it was Tepper who told Canales he was staying onboard. Canales probably feels like the guy doesn't even report to him.

That's not the level of effort that's going to warrant more snaps. At least Scourton had initial get off, he just had no idea what to do once an OL get their hands on him.

Booty cheeks. Doesn't look like he has any pass rush plan or any technical moves to defeat blocks. He pretty much just tries to bull rush the blocker then immediately quits if that doesn't work.

We should've brought in someone like Jameis or Howell. Someone who has shown they can put up numbers but have struggled with turnovers. If Bryce struggles, you can play them and more fairly evaluate the rest of your offensive talent positions and if they clean up their turnover issues maybe you aren't absolutely desperate for QB in the draft. If they don't you're gonna keep losing anyway so whatever.

A lot of people really overrated the "improved" Bryce. He basically just went from being the worst starting QB in the league to maybe middle of the pack. It just seemed relatively great because he was so completely awful previously.

In terms of a multi-year starter... honestly, he's in the conversation. Have their been worse one off starters or guys who have started a few games? Sure. But in terms of a guy who has gone into multiple seasons as the planned franchise QB? I mean... oof. Bryce is up there.

Trying to continue to be positive about Bryce is like trying to be positive about the prospect of getting your girl back when she's moved on and is dating a rich dude with a knee knocker. It's over so get over it.

This all just seems like mental gymnastics to keep making excuses for Bryce. The guy threw the ball away on 4th down. I mean... LOL! There's no defending it. We can breakdown the play til kingdom comes to see what else went wrong but the BIG thing that went wrong is our QB panicked, lost his head, and threw the ball away on 4th down.
