We might trade for Mayfield today. Unless we don't, in which case we might trade for Mayfield tomorrow or some other day.

6'4", 34" arms. Prototypical OG.

He's from Pittsburgh. He just acts like he's from Jersey.

Not gonna lie, pretty cool helmet. I don't really care about anything other than our performance on the field right now. We can go out there wearing uniforms that look straight out of Pop Warner for all I care. I just want to see the Panthers playing competitive football again.

Says the guy whose shtick sucks so bad that he gave up his old screen name to try to start over. Hi there @Moo Daeng!

Based on this brainiac crew... well, it wouldn't be shocking.

This. We're eating Sam's cap hit no matter what. If we get the Browns to eat a good chunk of Mayfield's salary and it costs us a mid-rounder to kick the tires on a former #1 overall pick who a couple of years ago looked like an up and coming elite young QB then do it. God knows the Panthers have pissed away mid-round picks and/or a few mil in cap space on a helluva lot worse investments than that.

Nope. It definitely doesn't. I think the lesson to learn here is that by and large it's mouth breathing morons who keep talk radio afloat.

Terrace Marshall Jr is the standout in this minicamp

Of all the coaches of the Rhule era, Brady will have the best future. -
Hat's off to him for making a living but it's basically "Jersey Shore Sports Talk". It doesn't speak highly of you if you're a regular listener. Just sayin'.

Wasn't he last year too? Rhule needs to actually fuging play him in games that count. -
The Browns hold the upper hand here. Darnold is 100% a liability. A negative asset. There's zero doubt about that. The Browns can always sit tight and wait for a potential QB injury that could change the market. We're still gonna have trash Darnold and a 3rd round rookie that we're obviously not planning to play early. If the Panthers want to make this happen, they're just going to have to swallow the bitter pill that they're going to have to eat that Darnold cap hit. Which is exactly what I said would happen when we idiotically picked up that option to double down on the idiocy of trading for him.

I've always thought that getting them to take Darnold was a pipe dream

It's not just QB. Look at LT after Gross. WR after Smitty. CB after Norman. OG after Norwell and Turner. DT after Jenkins. Anytime we lose good players we flail at that position for years. When you draft poorly for years you probably have significant holes and virtually no depth.

It dropped a few minutes ago. It's 75 points. The DJIA is up 450 points. It almost seems like the market is breathing a sigh of relief that they didn't go 100.
-
I honestly think at least 50 points is already priced in. Maybe more like 62.5 since a lot of people are expecting 75. I expect 75. I think the Fed actually wants to do 100 but they realize that'd be the equivalent of yanking the e-brake on the home stretch of the Daytona 500. Yeah, it's a cold water fire hose on inflation but it's also gonna cause a fiery pileup of a crash.

Which current players would start on the 2015 team?
LinvilleGorge replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
We win the SB if Taylor Moton is on that 2015 team. Horn and Norman would've made one helluva pair of CBs. Chinn would be a starter. Burns would've gotten a LOT of PT. DJ Moore would start. CMC would've gotten a LOT of PT though I still think Stephen Davis would've been Ron's starter. -
I mean, I've accepted that these guys realize they're likely fighting for their jobs and that they're highly unlikely to put their jobs on the backs of Sam Darnold (after coaching him for a year) and a 3rd round rookie. They're going to bring in another vet to try to salvage their jobs. Of the bad options available, Mayfield would be my choice. The guy has legit talent but he's a jackass. As a fan who has basically detached myself from this team emotionally, my body is ready. It'll be entertaining regardless. Maybe a slice of humble pie and a change of scenery rejuvenates Mayfield. Or... maybe it's just an absolute poo show with a QB who probably won't bite his tongue. Either way, sounds entertaining to me.
-
This would honestly be my preference. Focus on getting Corral ready. If that means Darnold starts the first 5-6 games so be it. But focus on getting Corral ready to take the field this year. Find out if you have anything to work with or if we're still in desperate QB need again next off-season.

If they took Sam then the money is a wash. Their cap hits are identical.

Oh, your QB is injured? Time to really lean on him now! Signed off by

Listen, if we can get them to take Sam I'm all in. Do that. Assuming we're talking about something in the 4th/5th round range in terms of pick trade compensation.
