Great point. It was for the same reason. We're a lot closer to the Lions than we are last year's Rams. This is my point. You can't just slap an elite QB on a bad team and have a good team. -
I'm out of optimism for Tepper and Rhule's Panthers.

I think he gets traded this coming week. Whether it's early in the week or later I have no idea but I think this is going to come to a head this week. The Texans, Watson, and interested teams all have to be tired of this dragging out.

Watson holds the trump card though. If both are pursuing he can pick his destination via the no trade clause. If he prefers Seattle that's where he'd end up.

So, if Watson comes here he immediately transforms us into a competitive team but Seattle with Watson would be floundering for years despite them having far more draft capital and cap space? LOL! That's logical.

It'll be like most of Cam's career. Elite QB surrounded by a bad team with a fanbase screaming to get the QB some help. The only difference is that instead of watching roster building capital get pissed away we just won't have any capital.

They picked up three players in that Wilson trade themselves including a good Young starting TE and a starting DL. They wouldn't be nearly as gutted in capital as we would be.

The Wagner cut is confusing if they trade for Watson. Outside of that though, they can actually give up the haul of picks to Houston without completely gutting their draft capital due to the Wilson trade.

If Seattle wants him they're probably the best positioned to make the deal and still be able to build around him given the haul they just got for Wilson.

He's the one piece I'm certain the Texans will demand from us outside of the 1st round picks.

Because I have zero confidence in Tepper building and maintaining a competent football organization. Everything I've seen so far over four years suggests quite the opposite.

Deshaun Watson is barely above .500 as an NFL QB. Why? Because he's been on bad teams. It'd be the same here.

Worry about it without multiple future 1st round draft picks and a cap situation that will be among the worst in the league. Yeah, worrying about it will be all that we can do because we won't have any capital to do much else.

What about with a healthy Watson but no top 100 draft picks, no Brian Burns, no Gilmore, no Dante Jackson, no Chinn, no Reddick. If we make this trade, we're going to be GUTTED.

It's true. I obviously like Howell a lot and I think most are underrating him considerably but this is a BAD landing spot for a rookie QB.

Crazy how little talk there was here around the combine this year. I guess that's what happens when you only have one top 100 pick and we're seemingly desperate to try to trade that away.

Yeah, let the Falcons draft poor man's Matt Ryan. Very poor man's. Matt Ryan almost singlehandedly made BC relevant during his college days. That team sucked but he carried them.
