Hey @frankwand @Icege, how about y'all do us all a favor and put each other on ignore? Thanks.

This is what seven losing seasons and looking like trash in the preseason again looks like, y'all. Hate to say, it doesn't breed a lot of positivity. We had this exact same thread last year. Some folks left and started a Discord group. Maybe check it out. I don't know what else to tell you.

Because at 30 (he'll turn 31 on December 5th) he's likely to be past his prime before this team is ready to meaningfully compete all the while it's draining us of cap space and depriving us of draft capital to add younger talent. It's just not a smart move for this organization at this time, but it's the exact type of move we've been making the entire Tepper era where we're more than happy to shoot ourselves in the dick for the future while trying to squeeze 5-6 wins out of a 3-4 win roster. Just brilliant.

Yeah, we've known this for years. Have you missed the years of Hurney meatball jokes on here?

Yeah, continued gray area would be awful IMO. If Bryce looks mid and we win day 7 games... ugh. That feels like purgatory to me.

All I want out of this season is Bryce to show us he's the one or for Bryce to be complete ass and get us a pick that might get us the one. That's it that's all.

Preseason Panthers v Texans official game day thread
LinvilleGorge replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Does that work in the modern NFL? Let's be honest, if prime Manning or Brady could walk through your door and suit up today, how many current NFL teams aren't taking him over their current guy? Honestly, there might only be one. -

Probably lingering effects from the illness that kept him out of practice. -
Scourton - Collapsed Lung, Week-to-Week
LinvilleGorge replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, injuries are just part of the reality of the game of football but dammit, why can't we have nice things? Seems like every time we stumble onto an elite player guess who's gonna get derailed by injuries? -
DJ Johnson, the end of the line

Evero supposed to be the next big thing. Rhule was supposed to be the next big thing. Bryce was supposed to be the next big thing. I think the thing is that David Tepper just keeps falling for hype trains. This guy is going to try to trade EVERYTHING for Arch Manning. LOL -
DJ Johnson, the end of the line

Yep. Plenty of us said it at the time. Edges started flying off the board and we made a panic move to over-draft an older prospect who hadn't done much producing. -
DJ Johnson, the end of the line

I think they know what they have (or don't have) in him so they wanted a better look at other guys. Based on what I saw in these two games if you can't make this roster you need to be working on your resume because professional football ain't for you. -
Team will never be good as long as Tepper owns the team
LinvilleGorge replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
A few meaningless wins at the end of lost seasons ranking draft position is certainly another hallmark of the Tepper era and yet every year we have a good chunk of the fanbase trying to convince themselves that it's building "winning culture". It's building a wall around this chasm of suck is what it's doing. -
The Read Optional:Was Bryce Young's leap for real?
LinvilleGorge replied to lumbeecheraw75's topic in Carolina Panthers
I doubt he'll get a chance with a different QB. Tepper has one helluva itchy trigger finger with HCs. If we decide it's time to move on from Bryce he'll probably decide it's time to move on from Canales too. -

NFL coaching circles run deep. Many probably haven't forgotten how he just unceremoniously tossed Rivera to the side like that either. You have Ron getting fired before the end of the season, Reich getting fired literally mid-season in his first year here, Wilkes getting passed over when he did well as interim. I mean, he's got a lot of strikes against him. -
I'm sure all the hype Sanders is getting for looking good against our sorry asses irks him but by all reports he's ahead of Sanders on their depth chart which is all he really needs to be focusing on

I hope that last round of hirings showed Tepper that he's put his organization in a place where his wish lists have to start where everyone else's end. Anyone with other options is going with the other option. Especially after he likely got a good talking to about just throwing out insane contracts after the Rhule hire. -

And therein lies the key issue. It's not at all like game conditions. In the actual game conditions they've looked atrocious so far. -

I can only go off what I've seen and what I've seen ain't good. I understand there's been positive reports out of joint trainings etc. but when they've taken the field and I've had a chance to lay eyes on them, oh wee mayne. -

I hope you're right but I think you're setting yourself up for a massive disappointment. I'm done doing that to myself with this team. -

I mean, certainly seems this way. We all keep hoping for a turnaround but y'all I'm just not seeing it. Maybe this year will be the year where the preseason doesn't matter and we flip a switch and magically look competent come the regular season but I wouldn't bet a dime on it.
