  1. I'll be heading down with my dad in about an hour thanks to @Happy Panther
  2. Every time he faces a decent team he doesn't look good. I don't think it's a coincidence.
  3. I expect some changes to be made regardless.
  4. Oh, it's homerism for sure. But real talk, the Heels are probably 1-8 without Sam Howell.
  5. That's generally been the case when he's faced good competition.
  6. It's brisket, man! Course ground salt and pepper. I add a bit of granulated garlic but that's it.
  7. The brisket lasted about 10 minutes. It was bangin' though. Lots of people asking how I cooked it. Once I told them they're like... uh, other than that how do I make this? Nope, that's it. If you don't wanna do that then you gotta go to Austin and pay $25+ per pound
  8. Seems like this has been said about a TON of bust OL over the past 20 years ago. OL has gone from the safest 1st round pick to one of the riskiest.
  9. I wouldn't go that far. His first three years in the league he looked like a sure-fire HOFer. He probably had about the strongest first three years of any WR in league history. Since then though? Meh. Hindsight being 20/20, the Giants made a great call cashing in on his trade value and moving on.
  10. Not just no, but hell fuging no. This dude has been a lockerroom problem everywhere he's ever been and his play no longer even comes close to justifying dealing with it. If we were a team on the brink of being a contender with an obvious weakness at WR, then maybe. It'd be something to think about. But honestly, that's the only type of team that should even consider bringing OBJ into the fold whether it's via waiver claim or via FA if he clears waivers. I won't be shocked if he clears.
  11. It's a lot of meat,but not sure it'll last until 2023.
  12. Still riding with the hometown kid who's accounting for 72% of the total offense for the 11th ranked offense in the country behind a terrible OL, JAGs at RB, and one proven WR. "Down year"... LOLOLOL!!! The team, yes. The player, hell no. He's also probably the only QB who would legit be excited to be heading to the Panthers.
  13. I just think we'd most likely end up with a similar caliber player vs. a young guy who's already familiar with our system. I'd rather keep Carter than spend the money on a FA who would provide a definite upgrade. If we're gonna throw money at D, can we please for the love of god do it at FS? I've been begging for a legit FS since we let Deon Grant walk. I'd much rather have a JAG at LB than continue to trot JAG after disappointing JAG out there at FS. Give me someone who can free up Chinn to work underneath where he excels.
  14. Oh snap! How'd that go? That seems more befitting a Saints matchup. LOL!
  15. Good backup/marginal starter type. As long as we can retain him with a contract reflecting that we probably should. Gotta remember, we're way short on draft capital this year and a definite upgrade probably wouldn't come cheap via FA. You're not going to have All-Pros at every position. You're gonna have to make do with some JAGs and LB is a good place to hide a JAG on your defense.
  16. I just put the brisket on the fire box side and the butts on the far side.
  17. Also, I'll admit to another cheat that I do. Everyone who's done much smoking at all knows about the "Texas crutch". Wrapping with aluminum foil at the stall to reduce cooking time. Okay. But here's the thing, as soon as you wrap you're done smoking. You're roasting at that point. So fug it. Pull it and put it in the oven at that point. Don't tie yourself to tending the smoker unnecessarily and wasting good wood. The end result is the same.
  18. Yep. Anyone that complains about brisket being hard, I just ask them if they've ever tried smoking a prime brisket. The answer is always no. Yeah if you're smoking those lean choice briskets there's zero room for error. You better be on point. But good prime briskets are almost as forgiving as pork butt.
  19. LOL! Yet another example of "starting" not meaning poo. Byron Bell started 56 games at OT for the Panthers, 15 at LT. Amino Silatolu started 31 games for us. Nate Chandler started 19. Our OL struggles this season have somehow made fans forget that honestly this is our norm.
  20. I'm flexin'! LOL! Nah, bought the briskets on sale for 98 cents per pound and Sam's Club has USDA prime brisket for $5.38 per pound. So it's about $125 on meat. Not bad considering there's close to 50 pounds in the smoker.
  21. Nah, we'll git 'er done in 10-11 keeping the temps between 250-275. USDA prime brisket let's you get away with higher temps. So much moister with the fat content. Pork butt is so friendly to smoke you can get away with just about any temp. You could probably broil it to smoke it. Okay, that's an exaggeration but as long as you keep the temps south of 325 or so you're gonna end up fine.
