I have no clue what is going on and I don't think any of these media types do either. They're just plastering that wall with mud so that when something happens (or doesn't happen) they can point to some "report" they spammed along the way and claim they called it. That's the state of media these days. It's a show.

Never seen so much mud thrown at the wall before. Virtually any take that could possibly be "reported" about this situation has been reported. That way literally anything that happens, these folks are gonna be able to point back to some "report" and say they called it. Yeah, you're gonna get it right somewhere along the way when you slather the entire wall with mud.

Mike Florio at PFT is VERY bearish on Watson to Carolina. Specifically saying that Watson wants to go to Miami and only Miami. The only thing that is crystal clear to me regarding this whole Watson trade situation is that absolutely no one has any fuging clue what if anything is going on. If they did he would've already been traded about 72 different times by now.

Honestly, I think we'd probably be 4-2 with Teddy right now and everyone here knows how little I thought of Teddy as a QB.

Everything they SAID indicated they were eyeing a five year rebuild. Everything they've DONE indicates they've been looking for quick fix bandaids. Well, on offense at least. We're building a very talented young defense but we're trying to slap together an offense with duct tape and bailing wire and if we railroad Joe Brady don't be surprised if he doesn't call it what it is. "Listen, they brought me in here and paid me all that money and then they spent all their roster building resources on defense. Whatya want me to do?"

Stop. Sam is terrible. A big part of Dak's success is getting the ball out very quickly - among the fastest in the NFL. A big part of Darnold's problem is that he holds the ball too long if he can't hit his initial read. He takes too long to come off of that read and then it's panic mode. If they swapped places, Dak would still look good here. Probably not AS good but pretty damn good and Darnold would still look like trash in Dallas. Probably not AS trashy but still pretty damn trashy.

I wanted to keep Grier. As hapless as he looked last year, he clearly outplayed PJ in the preseason. I mean, Grier isn't a legit fallback plan either but if we're choosing between the two, Grier was the better looking QB.

Yep. People got mad at me for pointing this out. If we hadn't panicked and stayed patient we would've ended up getting Darnold for significantly less because no one else wanted him. Considering that, the Jets absolutely robbed us blind in that trade. Darnold's true market value was probably a mid-round pick. We should've gotten him for a 4th rounder, maybe an extra late rounder thrown in to sweeten the pot.

That's giving up on next year. Sam ain't it. And yes, I said from the get go that going all in on Darnold was idiotic. Wanna trade for him and see if you can fix him? Okay (well, not okay since is said this was gonna be a disaster from the get go but whatever). But you HAVE to have a sold fallback plan. PJ Walker is NOT that.

Yep. Burrow's final season was unreal, but to be fair, so was the talent surrounding him. That wasn't the case with Cam.

Mine would've been Minshew, but at this point I think we gotta just eat it and tank. Try to run the ball and limit Sam's ability to hurt us. Mainly one read/half field read play action based pass plays. Which is what a lot of people are currently complaining about. The offense has looked elementary because it is. It has to be.

Sam does have the talent but he doesn't have it between the ears. When his presnap read is good and he can hit his first read he looks really good. But when he has to come off his first read and start processing on the fly it all falls apart for him. I don't think that can be fixed. You either have it or you don't.
