That's fair. If I'm being completely honest, I wish we'd sent that 6th to Jacksonville for Minshew. If Darnold continues the play he's shown the past two weeks it'd be nice to have a Minshew level backup to go to.

The picks he's thrown over the last two games are so bad. Some picks happen. Balls get tipped. Sometimes defenders make unreal plays. But damn, he's hitting defenders between the numbers like they're the intended receivers.

Honestly, I think I saw the coaching staff's confidence in Darnold crack today and the back breaking final INT might just reinforce that. We really took the ball out of his hands when we were desperately trying to hang on before the Eagles took the lead.

There was some bad but IMO there was more good than bad. I still think Moton at LT and Christensen at RT is our best OT tandem.

All I'm saying is that we've spent significant cumulative resources acquiring players at a position that wasn't a need. Those are resources that can't now be used to potentially address glaring weaknesses.

I believe him too. But I do blame them for specifically targeting historically mediocre and oft-injured free agents. Erving and Elflein are the types of guys who generally sign low level contracts in the second wave of FA. We signed them to real money during the primary wave of FA when guys are generally being overpaid. I found it baffling they were the guys we chose to target and so far it has planned out predictably - they've been mediocre when available and are both currently injured.

Some people think that being incapable of producing an original thought and simply proclaiming the infallibility of all things Panthers is somehow being the ultimate fan.

We need CMC back for sure. We need to get Brown on the field. Our interior OL is trash. When Erving and Elflein are back, Elflein might need to replace Paradis at C and Erving might need to be the new LG. I honestly think Moton - LT Erving - LG Elflein - C Brown - RG Christensen - RT might ultimately be our best potential OL lineup.

If moves were made in a vacuum, sure. But they're not. Every move comes with cap ramifications and when you trade you're also sacrificing draft and/or roster capital.

Needing a QB and three starting OL would require one helluva off-season. Maybe we need to calm down on trying to field an all-CB defense and focus on far more glaring issues.

Sam has gotten exposed pretty badly without CMC. CMC IS the offense. We're every bit as reliant on one player on offense as we were during the Cam era.

We are who we thought we were. The D is greatly improved overall, but the '85 Bears D couldn't drag this offense across the finish line, especially when Sam throws three picks.

The big concern is that when he actually does get time that's when he's at his worst.

Which was very predictable considering their past injury issues.

They were BADLY wrong. Unfortunately, it's starting to look like I was right about Darnold too. Just when I was starting to believe that I might have been wrong.

Those three INTs were all directly on him. Joe Brady isn't out there hitting defenders between the numbers.
