  1. Two ways to look at it. You say that means the conference is weak, but it's just as easy to say that the conference isn't ridiculously top heavy like the SEC is.
  2. The footprint of that fanbase is huge. All of CO, WY, UT, NM. You have to go a long way from Denver in any direction to get to the next NFL team. The Front Range of Colorado is probably the most geographically isolated major metro area in the U.S. in terms of proximity to the nearest other major metro area.
  3. Because honestly Darnold is a long shot. I honestly don't think his presence will keep us from drafting a QB we like. I think adding him was all about 1) moving on from Teddy and 2) reading the tea leaves and seeing that #8 is likely too low to land a QB we like. Even if we don't draft a QB at #8, I think a QB like Kellen Monds or Davis Mills is pretty likely.
  4. The ACC had the third most active NFL players last season (215) behind the SEC (339) and Big Ten (253). The Big 12 was the bottom feeder of the power five conferences with 131.
  5. 1. Fields 2. Lance 3. Trade down 4. Sewell 5. Slater 6. Please for the love of god trade down
  6. Considering the conversation in this thread is about this draft it's of peak relevancy.
  7. Five top 25 teams in the final ESPN college football poll. Yeah, the ACC is just trash. LOL! https://www.espn.com/college-football/rankings
  8. I think he probably goes in the 3rd. I just don't know that he's a great fit for us due to his bust potential. He'd make sense as a roll of the dice for a better team, but we need players with those first three picks. We don't need pie in the sky prospects.
  9. I'm intrigued by the Cincinnati kid, but I think he's likely pure boom or bust.
  10. Don't get me wrong, Lance definitely has some intriguing tools. But let's be honest, imagine Justin Fields playing against Lance's competition level with Lance's surrounding case. NDSU is basically the Alabama of D1-AA. It would've looked like a video game.
  11. Bridgewater to wherever for whatever suits me fine.
  12. Honestly, I think Leatherwood is gonna be a bust at OT. I just don't think he has the required foot quickness. I think he'll be one of those guys who is drafted and given a chance at OT but likely ultimately ends up at OG. That's not a terrible thing, but I think that's how you have to value him and kinda already have that approach in mind.
  13. #9 overall for Teddy Bridgewater... LOLOLOL!!! I mean, I hope the Broncos are that stupid but realistically no one is giving up a 1st for Teddy. I'd be happy with literally anything. Just take the contract.
  14. I'm concerned if we think LT has been addressed long-term. To me it's about positional value, the players available, and our roster. Looking at those factors, it seems to me LT is likely going to be the best fit at #8 unless one of the QBs we like is very unexpectedly available. Assuming it's not QB or a trade down (which would be my options 1A and 1B, BTW), I'd be shocked if we don't draft either a LT or a CB. I'd out it 70% LT, 30% CB. I just think there's better value at the top of the draft at LT. I honestly expect the best CBs in this class to go in that late 1st/early 2nd range. I think we can get a good CB prospect with our 2nd rounder. If we're actually going to make a run at building around Darnold, my preference would be LT in the 1st, CB in the 2nd, IOL in the 3rd. I think that married us pretty well with both our needs and the way this draft is likely to play out IMO.
  15. I always enjoy when someone falls head over heels in love with a given prospect and it causes them to bash every other prospect at that position for no apparent reason other than blinding man crush.
  16. I think the opposite. I think he's easily the most underrated player on the roster.
  17. Sure have. We all have. Well, except for this of us who never actually offer an opinion of their own but those people aren't worth talking about anyway.
  18. I hope he's right. I seriously doubt he is.
  19. I'm just being realistic. This organization has never achieved sustain success. We've sporadically had some good seasons and then got overall very poor return out of the career of an MVP QB.
  20. We're tied for 17th in playoff appearances since 2000, so middle of the pack. We're 18th in wins and have a sub-.500 winning percentage since 2000. Yes, we went to two Super Bowls.
  21. Yes. I would not pass on a QB we like due to Sam Darnold. I think the move was made because we didn't like our chances of a QB at 8 but if the board falls that way, draft him anyway.
  22. Not just for the sake of it. But of there's trade down value there I'd probably take it. I'm of the mindset of heavily hedging that bet on Darnold.
  23. This is where I'm at. Honestly, if it's not QB and the phone is ringing we should at least be listening.
