Grab you a tall glass of cold water because these are gonna be some hard pills to swallow... They're missing four starting OL. Nico Collins is their #1 WR and had less than 500 receiving yards in both of his previous season. He'll surpass that in his next game. Their #2 is a 3rd round rookie. Their #3 is a guy with 500ish yards in each of his two previous seasons. Their starting TE has 2200 yards over six seasons. They have the sixth fewest rushing yards on the NFL so the passing game is carrying the full weight of the offense. Their staring RB has under 200 rushing yards. Their backup has less than 100. But keep comforting yourself with this narrative that the Texans have the superior offensive supporting cast.

I don't know. But you'd have to get more from the Broncos than just Jeudy. If we made this trade straight up o gotta try to find a way to get press credentials for a day. I would absolutely publicly humiliate Fitterer for suggesting that DJ Moore caliber WRs are easier to find than Brian Burns caliber pass rushers after he traded Burns straight up for a lesser WR than DJ Moore. Explain that, please.
-
If we trade Burns for Jeudy when Burns could've simply been included in the trade package to the Bears instead of DJ Moore the mocking of Tepper and Fitterer should never stop.

Quite possible. And if that's the case it was a horrible hire because Tepper and Fitts seemed committed to make a bold move in the draft. So if you're bringing in a rookie maybe don't hire the guy who would prefer a vet. Especially when the rookie doesn't fit the mold of the type of QB the coach generally prefers. Everything just seems like a bad fit. We have a power run blocking OL trying to largely pass protect. We have a coach that likes big, strong armed QBs and we have Bryce Young. There are just square pegs and round holes everywhere.

I get it. There's no harm in it.
-
I think everyone did. I don't think anyone expected we'd be limited to screens and checkdowns and Bryce would be missing seeing open receivers further downfield every game. I don't even think he's looking downfield anymore. Why? I don't know.
-
I think he has. That's the scary part. Hence the constant screens. If your QB can't effectively throw more than 15-20 yards downfield what are you to do?
-
Keep coping. The Panthers traded for a guy they thought could make up for these deficits with his football brilliance despite his limited physical traits. It's not working out.
-
We don't know how the decision making process went down. There was a lot of talk about Bryce not fitting Reich's model of a QB and now there's a lot of rumors Reich didn't want Bryce. True or not? Who knows?
-
I didn't want him. I'm surprised the Dolphins did given their weapons. I guess they figure that 6th rounder likely won't amount to much anyway and the talent is worth it. If it doesn't work out they can just cut him and move on.

It's wild how many are choosing to just bury their heads in the sand and completely ignore that happened. Same coach calling the plays. Same receivers. Same OL. Very different passing game.

What would our guys look like with Stroud? We saw what they looked like with Dalton. A lot better.

Have you looked at Stroud's weapons and that they're missing nearly their entire starting OL. Stroud has been leaps and bounds better than Bryce very early in their respective careers. It just is what it is.

Probably a side effect of historically always having defensive minded coaches. They knew defense. They pushed to use most of their resources in defense.
-
LOL, read that again.

Start threatening defenses vertically and watch some of these issues start resolving. When you allow defenses to not have to cover behind 20 yards offense is really tough. Yeah, Zavala is trash though and he needs to be on the bench and it should've already happened. When you make this trade this is the pressure you put on the guy you take. It's not fair to Bryce but it is what it is. We made the decision that he could make up for the deficiencies we were going to have giving up those resources and assets.

Steve Smith Sr. Wants You All To Relax
LinvilleGorge replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't want him to be perfect. I'd settle for him not being a big part of the problem at this point. Everything sure looked better in Seattle. I can't recall what was different. -
The portion of the video the poster specifically mentioned. Watch it.
-
Good grief, man. You are absolutely ignoring blatant reality. Go to the 7:25 mark and watch. It was exactly as the poster said.

I don't view the constant goal post moving buckets of excuses as reasonable. It's just plain cope at this point. We need to see more from Bryce. All we have right now is hope and we have to ignore what we're watching to cling to it. -
Stop parroting pre-draft analysis. If Bryce keeps looking like this "arm elasticity" is going to stop being a QB buzzword as quickly as it started.
-
Just feels like this organization under Tepper has to create some type of bullshit narrative to sell themselves in what they've already decided to do.
-
Frank Reich isn't the one throwing the ball. We can keep harping on Reich but we have to ignore how much better and more effective the passing game looked with Dalton to rationalize it.
