  1. I'm not saying it doesn't matter, but on the huge moves I absolutely think Tepper is directly involved. I don't think you're trading future 1st rounders without him being involved.
  2. Seems like their stance is that Archie, Peyton, and Eli all played 4 years of college ball and if it ain't broke don't try to fix it. I mean, I can't really argue with the Mannings on how to best prepare for the NFL as a QB. But yeah, I definitely think that if they stood form and forced a block of Eli to the Chargers they'd probably due the same for Tepper's Panthers.
  3. Archie has already said Arch won't be declaring for the draft next year. And if they blocked Eli to the Chargers ain't no way they're letting Arch end up in this poo show. LOL
  4. Y'all still chomping at the bit? LOL https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/cincinnati-bengals/news/trey-hendrickson-trade-packages-commanders-lions-bengals-edge-rusher/04c5da5188af6ce49110eee1?utm_term=trey hendrickson,cincinnati bengals,detroit lions,nfl,washington commanders&utm_medium=browser_notifications&utm_source=pushly&utm_content=US&utm_campaign=Trey Hendrickson trade packages
  5. That the next year's first became #1 overall just absolutely tanks the value of the trade in retrospect. We basically traded a fortune just to get to #1 a year earlier.
  6. Yeah, we've certainly shown to be shrewd negotiators when Tepper falls in love with something. Oh wait...
  7. Peak Panthering LOL We seems very willing to trade away future 1sts. I think we just cockily assume they're going to be low 1sts meanwhile we end up giving away #1 overall. LOL
  8. My sports news feed today is full of pretty much every sports outlet out there pondering WTF regarding the Panthers' starters getting not getting additional series against the Texas and not expected to play in the 3rd game after looking like garbage all preseason. Seems like the sports media as a whole is seeing and thinking the same thing most is us are.
  9. I've watched the Panthers do plenty of dumb things but playing a S/LB tweener best used as an in the box safety as a deep FS was right up there with some of the best. And don't be surprised if we're about to do it again with Moehrig. LOL
  10. Hence why I said it seems organization. Sure, some are busting their asses but when the overall organizational approach is lackadaisical the end result is going to be poor overall team performance.
  11. Seems like an organizational thing. Every year we do this. All lackadaisical through camp and preseason but talking confident like we can just flip the switch when the regular season gets here but then the regular season gets here and we find out that we can't just flip a switch and turn it on.
  12. Archie has already said he won't be entering the draft next year. They want him playing four years of college ball like he did and like Eli and Peyton did and I mean, I can't argue against it. I'm definitely not going to argue with the Manning family about how to best prepare a young QB for the NFL. Their formula for themselves sure has worked so far.
  13. You know what would be FAR worse? Paying the wrong guys at those positions. If Icky doesn't improve in pass protection, Bryce doesn't step up, and we have long-term concerns with Moton's knee you're only going to make the situation WAY worse by paying them like what you wish they were.
  14. A big part of it was fixing the QB position. We found Jake on the trash heap for Fox and Clausen sucked us to Cam for Rivera. If Bryce starts playing like what he was drafted to be a lot of problems will magically seem a lot less dire. Not saying we'll be instantly good but we'll instantly be competitive and more hopeful.
  15. I get that PFF isn't the end all be all but at least it's an apples vs. apples comparison... Moehrig looks like he's elite in the box and a better blitzer but is an even bigger liability in coverage. Meanwhile, Chinn is on a 2 year $16.3M contract while Moehrig is on a 3 year $51M contract. We just keep falling in love with safeties from the '80s and '90s era of football.
  16. I think you misread what I was saying. I was criticizing the move. If we were wanting to load up on in the box safeties we already had one on the roster, instead we played him out of position then decided to move on only to spend big money on a similar player then draft another one. That makes no sense.
  17. I think everyone expected this. The question will be who will get the nod for a dress rehearsal once they're out of the playoff picture?
  18. Yeah, Ron's only real flaw as a coach was lack of adaptability. He and Shula both basically came up with a game plan and usually a pretty good one at that but if it didn't work there was no plan B or C. We're just gonna keep doubling down on A and hope it eventually starts working.
  19. They might. But I don't see them getting a 1st AND an impact young defender and any 1st they would get would be from a team that expects that pick to be very low in the round.
  20. What young defensive player do we even have that they would want? Horn and Brown are about all I can come up with and trading either is probably cap prohibitive even if we were open to it.
  21. Especially in the NFL. These guys are on contracts. They can't get hurt in their fee fees and just hit the portal.
  22. Dabo is a consummate college coach. He's a recruiter and motivator. The NFL is a lot more about Xs and Os. Great college coach but I don't think he'd translate well at all to the NFL level.
