Think Snow will defend his run D after today?
LinvilleGorge replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Zero chance IMO. Phil Snow has been the constant on Rhule's staffs and his college teams were driven by good D and serviceable offense. He'll need Snow at his next college stop once he gets canned here. -
Think Snow will defend his run D after today?
LinvilleGorge replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
It was just pretty eye opening watching how badly this D struggled to stop the run when we sacrificed so much on pass rush ability to get better at stopping the run. Today we struggled to do both. That's not good. Looks to me like a D that is going to get absolutely eaten up by teams with decent QBs. They got bailed out today facing a backup QB. -
39 carries for 217 yards for 5.6ypc and a TD on the ground. That's awful in both yards and average per carry and would've likely been even worse had the Browns not seemed to have forgotten late that they were running at will and chose to bafflingly rely on Brissett to make plays.

Panthers to attend UK vs Florida game today.

Richardson's hype train crashed and burned HARD yesterday. Oh wee mayne. Like Cam Newton but a better passer they said... -
Yeah, Rhule and company have given us so much reason to bank on them improving.
-
You're expecting a Matt Rhule team to improve over the course of the season? That hasn't been what we've seen his first two seasons. We've played our best football in the first third of the season, then absolutely faceplanted in the final two thirds of the season.

Like most of our other personnel moves of late. You don't have three straight five win season by making good decisions.
-
If Brissett was actually hitting those open receivers early on that game is out of hand by halftime. Then their play calling was just absolutely baffling late. They were just the less bad team on the field today but I think we watched two bad teams playing today.
-
Not too worried about that. That defense has a ton of issues. Namely they struggle to stop the run, rush the passer, and cover. Other than that, they're pretty decent.

They aren't top CBs. They're just OUR top CBs.

I thought all those guys were already in the HOF?

Meanwhile, it looks like Trey Lance sucks. 13/28 for 164 yards and an INT. Wouldn't be shocked to see Jimmy G playing at some point this year.

Yep. That ankle folded up bad.

Cardinals down to the goal line. Look like they're waking up on offense. We'll see if that D has found an answer. TD Cardinals.

Literally the least upset I've ever been after a crushing defeat at the buzzer with a terribly bad crucial call going against us. Normally I'd be LIVID. We honestly had no business being in that game.

Steelers hit a long FG as time expires to beat the Bengals in OT. KC out to an early 14-0 lead on the Cardinals.

Matt Rhule has still not learned how to win close games.
LinvilleGorge replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
Matt Rhule has still not learned to win games. Period. I think we can just leave it at that. You know, being 10-23 and all that. -
I give the team a ton of credit because the coaching staff didn't do them many favors today.
-
Elflein sucked at center all day. Why Rhule and company couldn't recognize that and put in Bozeman I have no clue. If he was healthy enough to be active he should've been out there.
-
He bounced back nicely after a pretty awful 1st half. I'm most concerned about our OL and D. If they weren't playing a backup QB they have us blown out early.
