He's the #2 at the moment.

I don't view physical traits as the number one thing to start with. How they play against the best competition in college weighs more than anything. Then you look at the physical attributes that will help them succeed at the next level. Thats where Young should have been removed from our board. Its like reading applications before you decide who to interview. If the basic qualifications (great production against tough competition) are met then you weed out those that do meet other criteria (height, weight, arm strength) for success going forward.

The primary roles of an NFL head coach
Jon Snow replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
The coach has to show that he is indeed a head coach. If he's going to blame the qb but does everything to protect said qb inorder to hide his weaknesses. Then how do you show his weaknesses? You do so by making said qb throw the ball regardless. Let him prove that he can or cannot run the coaches offense. Then the coaches ass is covered. Hiding your qb only leaves questions on whether said coach knows what he's doing. It's not rocket surgery. -
All I want to hear is Tepper is selling the team. Short of that, it doesn't matter what they do.

These guys nail the basics on Bryce/Canales/Carolina
Jon Snow replied to CRA's topic in Carolina Panthers
Its not about space. It's dumping long term contracts. They need more rookies to develop on cheap contracts. They do not need to sign FA'S period. If they do it's for scrub roster fillers. They have been paying those scrubs primer starter money on long term contracts. They are going to have to draft their way out the nfl basement and not buy their way out which Tepper and his GM minions have been trying to do. -
I'm not out on this qb class as others are. There's at least 3 guys who have a shot in the nfl. It doesn't mean I see them as a sure thing but this class is better than the Pickett draft class.
-
It won't improve. It will look better for a few quarters only by throwing deeper interceptions until Andy inevitably crashes.
-
They will stick it out with who they have now this season. They have no other choice. Next year this group may not be here to select the next group of qb's to battle with.

Do you think this team worries about dead cap? This team has been FUBAR long before Tepper arrived. Their contracts are set up for a win now team with their money allocated in the wrong positions with older players. If they were truly rebuilding their would be more rookie contracts and little to no vet contracts over 2 years. By the time they get enough talented rookies on this team that will nedd second contracts they will still have all their money tide up in aging gets. Its FUBAR. -
If any backup qb out there had any potential to be a starter they would be a starter already. A backup is a backup for a reason. They are the last resort when the starter goes down. When the starter goes down for more then a few games their teams season is over. Looking for someone's backup as a future starter is a waste a time and energy. Also teams do not develop qbs outside of their starter.

Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?
Jon Snow replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
I wouldn't feel comfortable with any Kiper endorsement. It's been well documented that Kiper doesn't no squat. -
He's also not good at nfl football.
-
It doesn't matter if he wants to stay in the league. Either he starts slinging it or he will never even find a job as a backup. That's on him.
-
The only real difference is Andy will take more chances down field which leads to turnovers. Young is too risk adverse for his own good. Were I him and is about to be out of the league soon I would sling the ball all over the place whether I physically could do it or not. What does he have to lose that he's not already lost? I just don't get it.

Concerning Avg points per loss byPanthers HCs
Jon Snow replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
John Foxx is probably the best coach this team has had since inception. Don and Ron are a close second. That should tell you all you need to know about the franchise. -
If that's all you want then we have one already. Now if you stipulate that he has to also complete it to our own players then that could be a problem.

Thats who I'm referring to. Both will be candidates. Maybe a qb or 2. -
He would have to accept a backup role here in that scenario. I cannot see that happening here.

Official Week 4: Panthers at Patriots Gameday Thread
Jon Snow replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He knew that last season along with the rest of us. I think Dan bought Young time with Young's play at the last half of the season. It was false hope of course but that was the decision they made and had to live with. Now they are at a crossroad with no other option other but to ride it out. -
There's no point in keeping any of our current qb's.

He's knows this little experiment is over. It's burning down around him and he's got to put out the fire. Who's the first to go and when? We need to start a pole. -
Andy.
-
Even if that all transpired in our favor they still would have found a way to screw it up I'm certain.

If you start firing coaches and benching your starting qb you signal the season is over and the purge must begin. That includes trading players for draft picks. -
This crew is not going to improve anything. It's only getting worse with each game.
