Warren is an enigma for a offense. If you take him you will have to change your offense to take advantage of his abilities. You will basically have to become a Ravens style offense. You will be running 2 and 3 TE sets and run the ball a lot more than you pass. Your defense will still be ass and you will not be successful in shootouts.

I mean he fits this team perfectly. I have considered the possibility that a S might be the pick for sometime now. The edge talk has drowned out any other position talk except the TE Warren. They only reason to consider not to go defense at 8 is if a generational talent on offense is there. Most seem to think that's Warren. So for now I'm going with Emannwori as the front runner.

I'm not ready to slot these guys just yet. The rankings are all over the place. If you go on just raw talent alone the two safties rank higher than all but 1 edge rusher. So there's that. They are more talented than Walker in my book, and maybe all but 1 CB and that's Barron. Johnson is right behind Starks and Emmanwori from a Panthers perspective.

It's quite possible. He wouldn't be a bad pick for the Panthers honestly. Although I would probably take Starks if I were going to take a safety but that's just me. I think they are not counting on Walker or Graham to be there. I think the Mykel Williams talk is just talk. He is just a younger version of what they already have on the roster.

Panthers Prospect Visits/Meetings (Final Update-4/22)

Outside of the top 3 that's a sad list. -
If they could have put together several successive drafts like that we would have had back to back winning seasons already. They need to figure out how to draft better every draft if they ever want to build a winning team.
-
Im still waiting for the Panthers to have a draft that changes the team for the good. We've had a few that changes it temporarily but it's few and far between.
-
There's only a few teams out there with enough cap space to sign him. New England has the most the last I checked. I'm guessing he's out of nearly everyone's price range at the moment. I would venture to guess his asking price is very steep.

I tried to be hopeful their rookie season. I saw some good and some bad. The bad was back breaking most of the time. But mostly what I saw was the FO wasting picks they couldn't afford to waste. They cannot afford a repeat of last years draft. They cannot afford to get cute.
-
Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we have had better since then. Like you said, it's probably our best in the past decade if I cared to dig into it. I'm hoping that our drafting has improved but I have not seen anything to indicate that it has.

That blew my mind as well. I hope it's true because I love archeology and finding anything that could possibly change history fascinates me.

Well I'm not sure that I would rate it as great. Yes our 1st pick was a great pick for the team although it has not been without loss of playing time. The 2nd pick was a complete waste. The 3rd pick has earned a spot as a reliable backup. The other 3rd pick, while he has worked hard to earn his place on the team, probably wouldn't find a spot on another team. The 4th pick is the only other starter that could get another job on another team. The rest isn't worth explaining.

Anyone watching the Big 12 pro day today? I kinda like that they decided to do a conference wide pro day instead of each school having one. At least you have them competing under the same conditions.
