  1. Or he was asking Ron what he would take for Howell.
  2. The Panthers are getting a lot of talk on nfl network right now. I missed the press conference dammit. I'm going to have to find the recordings. I did catch the one on one talk with Frank. Good stuff.
  3. The 5 to 10 years were concerning a rookie qb.
  4. You are asking the wrong guy. But to be fair they are still trying something different even if it's with the same players. So there's that.
  5. Because he's a dick just like Farve. His master taught him well.
  6. Better is a matter of perspective. It doesn't bother me who the backup or temporary starter is. I didn't care for signing Sam in the first place because USC qbs suck. But I'm not bothered by the idea if he stays on for another season like others here. It is what it is.
  7. Depends on how soon they found him. Considering the BAC of the deceased I would assume if he were drinking with them it would be detected in his system more than a couple of hours later. If he had very little to drink it probably wouldn't show up an hour later.
  8. I saw a report the he did not have alcohol in his system at the time. How the knew that after he left the scene I do not know. Unless the officer tracked him down within a half hour of the wreck.
  9. Well we do not get to make that call. I could think of worse temporary starters this season. All mid level starters have their warts. That's why they are mid level at best. Those guys are backups because there are only about dozen actual bonified nfl starts in this league. The rest are what they are. You have to do your best with that until you can draft a guy that may get you out of the pool of backups. That's the reality of the league.
  10. There are conflicting reports on the alcohol involvement in this case.
  11. Lose their job over a backup qb? A backup, not starter, a backup?
  12. This will definitely drop him out of the top 5 I would think. But I could be wrong.
  13. That guy has 10 to 12 inches on him.
  14. He could be charged with manslaughter sure. Without knowing the full details of this situation it's hard to say where this goes. This is probably going to end up a civil matter though. It would end up in a wrongful death lawsuit against him as a participant. That's hard to prove in this situation unless there was a lot of sober witnesses or it was caught on video, which it most likely was.
  15. If they could prove that he would have been charged with a felony. Now the DA can always upgrade the charges later of course. But what it will come down to the credibility of the witnesses in the end. If he fully confessed to everything then I'm not sure why he ran. If he was drunk and caused the crash he's fugged. If both were drunk and racing he probably gets a large fine and community service for a couple of year's. His draft stock will plummet because of this. Mostly because he left the scene.
  16. It's so crazy it might actually work!
  17. As an old Nascar saying goes, " If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'. I think Bill is an old Nascar fan.
  18. Never said anything about "fixing" Sam. I asked you who do you think they will go with? That you didn't answer.
  19. I'm not saying you are wrong. It could end up that way for sure. I guess we will have to wait until after the draft to find out.
  20. So? That is already known. Who do you think they will go with?
  21. That's why I say it must be for the fact he left the scene. Had he stayed it would have most likely resulted in a fine for just street racing. It's a stretch to say that his involvement resulted in the death of someone else unless they can prove he caused the wreck. The simple fact they were racing is trying to connect one to the other. A good layer will get this reduced. I'm not minimizing the other person's death in all this. But street racing is extremely dangerous and there's a reason it's illegal. But the sad fact is theres folks who die form excessive speed and racing everyday. Now will they try to make an example out of him? They might.
  22. You have to prepare yourself for any possibility. Just reading the tea leaves it looks to be trending in that direction at the moment.
  23. I think the coaches are going to be the teachers for the young guy. There's not a sub .500 vet out there that I would use as a mentor for a rookie. Those days are over unless you already have a vet starter in your system. The only guy that has any experience with these receivers and this team is Sam. I know you hate the guy but he's a logical choice for a temporary starter/backup for this season. Unless you would rather sign Carr, this is most likely the route they end up going for now.
  24. I'm not sure it means he's gone just yet. The available options for vet starter are not that great but Sam does have the advantage of chemistry with the players so that does give him a slight edge.
  25. That's what it states in that tweet.
