  1. There is no way I would trade bacon for eggs, and if you threw in the toast, I'd still go "no." Isn't the topic hypothetical trades that we can't predict? But Bacon--I am not trading, I don't care how versatile an egg is, or how much potential it has.
  2. He is also tall and young--he should be our backup by midseason if there is a need for a backup at any time before then.
  3. That's right! Since you took the high road, so will I.
  4. Nice pick. I recall liking him as a late-round QB in 2019 or so. He had a better JR year than SR year, but at Florida International, who knows what kind of support he had.
  5. Interesting point. Smith care out of nowhere. I was expecting a decent, borderline roster/PS player, but at any other time in Panther history (except maybe when we had Proehl or Cotchery) he would have been the #3 slot WR
  6. I 100% agree, but just assume that Zylstra is a different type of WR and special teams player--but I have no idea. When Moore seemed like he was loafing during last game (Smitty commented on it) I wondered if something bad was going on in the locker room. We never (prolly) expected to draft Marshall, but when he was there at the end of the second round, you take him. That meant Moore's days were numbered. I am guessing we tried to move him and could not.
  7. I did not know that. Used to play for the Rams in the 60s and maybe into the 70s. My dad caught 35 passes his sophomore year at USC (today, that is like 80) so he never regretted it. Gabriel and Dad met each other in all star basketball tournaments in 8th grade (Gabriel was from Wilmington, I believe) and then the Shrine Bowl and East West game. He said that Gabriel almost pulled him to Raleigh.
  8. Let me say this. If you were to ask me (realistically) what you wanted to find in today's dumpster dive, I would have told you a G/C. I have not seen Erving enough, but what I did see was not atrocious. What I saw coming through A gap on the left side was atrocious. Maybe they are coming together, maybe they were simply behind the defense (offenses are this time of year and they do not do much game planning before preseason games)--BUT a 23-year old G/C like Jordan is a nice addition. He is a good athlete and has a chance to start this season. He has a season of starting experience (19 games) under his belt. I am thinking he could play LG or C, and after giving him some time to study the offense, he could be a find. I will not miss Moore, and we saved a few $$$ by doing this, so it is a Win/Win.
  9. My dad and Gabriel were friends. Roman tried to get my dad (an end) to come to State to play (they were the same age) and Dad ended up going to South Carolina.
  10. They like finding good skill sets and coaching them up. Morgan--has the size and the tools, but just was not part of that Bowling Green/Florida International QB pipeline to the NFL...I think Jordan is a good athlete that MIGHT be out of position at Cincy--he could be a center or maybe he is more of a pure RG if that makes any sense....But in the wide zone, I expect him to be better than what he was at Cincy. Erving--good athlete, can play all 5 OL positions. Elflein--good athlete, can play G/C. Christensen--good athlete, can play 4 OL positions (questionably) We are seeing a pattern, but will they keep Darnold safe? I expect to see a lot of running the football, lotta short passes, not a lotta deep passes. Sounds like Bridgewater, but Darnold was hitting the WRs in stride so they could gain YACs. Fitterer---if you can't pick an OL, get someone in who can. We need to protect Darnold if we are going to succeed.
  11. When I focused on Roy in goal line, he was getting moved around like a patio umbrella in a hurricane. It was so bad, I let that one play influence my entire opinion of him.
  12. 34+" arms. Are you thinking what I am thinking??!!! He has long arms.
  13. Luvu outplayed Miller. Reddick outplayed Miller. What is that man talking about?
  14. Jordan seems to be a good athlete who is young (23) and the light has not yet come on. He has improved. We seem to be gravitating toward these athletic OL and it is obvious that the chemistry is not there yet. We saved money (cutting Moore) and added some G/C depth. I see no problem with this.
  15. Then what about the fact that Morgan used to work the hay fields naked and go to church. He was a bailer bare and went to temple afterwards. Yes that happened.
  16. It sure seems our GMs cannot locate OL. "Pssst. Elflein, Cam Erving--put down those cardboard signs and get over here. I have some money and contracts for you..."
  17. Good point, but let me add that I don't think anyone saw Marshall there at the end of round 2 (wasn't he like pick 57 or something?) I think when we picked him, Moore's fate was sealed.
  18. Cannon, Zylstra. Are we set with the bottom?
  19. Trying to stay offensive, but the more the merrier. Luvu might be an example of how misused talent was there. Let's hope it rubs off and Darnold and Elf go off this year.
  20. I am guessing Morgan and Darnold may have forged a friendship and Darnold might have helped bring Morgan here. Both are similar in style. I am not sure he is better than Grier, but I have not much on him. Now we have Elflein, Anderson, and both QBs from the 2020 NYJ dynasty. Quietly making it happen.
  21. without googling, he was (memory here) a QB for Florida Int. or something close. I liked his college videos...
  22. From the time he was signed, he dropped from 3rd WR to what appeared to be 5th--maybe 6th. That has to play in your head.
  23. About David Moore---Smitty noticed in the TV coverage that he was loafing---made a comment. I wonder if there was not trouble in paradise...
  24. OL is about chemistry, so he could fit in and be a steal. What are we losing over this--a fifth TE?
