That is what I or you would do based solely on the player, but when the rubber hits the road, you put your best five on the field. If you put Bozeman at C, you have no LG. this is why we need 1 more starting OL, in my opinion. Elf to the bench.
-
If you are a Pickett fan, then that is good news because they are the only team picking ahead of the Panthers that might go QB--I do not see Jax, Det, Houston, NYJ or NYG taking a QB at their spots. Seattle could make a move and trade up--but trading up for one of these QBs is very expensive and risky.
-
You have the Giants there--they pick #5--the Lions (won't take him) at #2, the Seahawks now have some picks to move up....it could get interesting. We better have a plan B.
-
Isn't news great when it is prefaced with, "As we hear it..."
-
trade for that contract? Nope
-
For those of you who claim that we have done nothing at QB. I agree. However, we have the #6 overall pick and if we have done nothing by then, we will be drafting a QB. 84.34% of my concern is on the offensive line. If we had to go to war tomorrow, I am guessing: LT Christensen LG Bozeman C Elflein RG Corbett RT Moton 40-50% better than last year's train wreck, but I would call that OL slightly below average to average. We still need 1 more piece.

If anyone ever hears the things in my head, I will be arrested. Did you know that a Duane Brown signing would give this team its third D. Brown? Little known fact.
-
I see the B, but I give it an A- because we have done so much with the cap to be able to do this. LT and QB are the 2 hardest positions to fill (along with an edge rusher--positions we filled by signing guys from our current roster), so we are far from home. This is like a crossword, with the last unfilled tiles being the hardest. I am still thinking Minshew and maybe draft a T or Duane Brown (it would be our third D. Brown on the roster) and draft a QB.

PFF's Sam Monson on Panthers free agency
MHS831 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Did not mention the RB Foreman, the LBs, but it feels good to have your feelings about something confirmed. The QB void must be addressed---I am leaning Minshew in a trade or Pickett at #6. I think that is what they will do--not necessarily what I want. I do not know what I want right now. -
I am thinking that we hear something today. Unlike others, I have no sources. I am only me with this brain thing in my head.

Here is what my Wikipedia page says at 8:36 pm on March 20:

Definitely see your point. I love him as a player.
-
Well, we all make since (intentional). Personally, I don't worry about grammar, but I do try not to sound like a drunk foreign exchange student from an impoverished Eastern Block country.
-
I like him a lot, but with Moore, Anderson, Marshall, Smith, Zylstra, etc. I think we have bigger needs--but he would make us the best WR corp in the NFL. We could have some very interesting dillemmas--what if Thibodeux is there and we need a pass rusher? What about Stingley (we have only 2 established CBs). What about Cross? Gonna be interesting.

Kenny Pickett > Malik Willis (at least for us)
MHS831 replied to janderson20vt's topic in Carolina Panthers
As I watch the Pickett highlights, I can't help but notice TE Krull. He could be a nice day 3 option, a third TE to go with Tremble and Ian. -
Part of me wonders if the Panthers would not take Thibodeaux if they have a LT and a QB signed by then.
-
I Have: 1. Jags--Neal OT 2. Lions--Hutchinson DE 3. Texans--Hamilton S (This one is bothering me, fwiw. could be DT Davis or DE Thibodeaux--they play in a division with strong running games, so Davis could be the call) 4. Jets--Stingley CB 5. Giants--Ekwonu OT
-
DE Hutchinson will be gone by pick 2. OT Neal will be gone by pick 5 That is about all I feel confident about. I think it is possible that someone reaches for Jordan Davis. Hamilton, Stingley, Ekwonu are probable players that go top 5. So for us, it is either trade back, take Cross or a pass rusher, or draft a QB.

Buy High, sell low. That is what we'd be doing.

Ya know what's nice about the Bozeman signing?
MHS831 replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
As much as I hate to sound like Rhule (making excuses for his indecision) he can play both LG and C at a high level. So if all we get is what we have, I see BC at LT and Bozeman at RG. I really want Bozeman to be the C, however. -
[Sheena Quick] Panthers interested in Eric Fisher
MHS831 replied to SgtJoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Does all this mean the intent is to play BC at LG? It sure seems that way--not seeing any attempt to sign a LG--unless Bozeman was the LG signing and we are going to war with Elf at C. -
I saw Pickett's highlights and there is a lot to like--but it seems that every great throw was from a clean pocket. If they draft him and start him, they better not have him running for his life.
-
He allowed 8 sacks in 2021--that is one every 2 games and Russell was the QB. His PFF grade was 71, however. I think they will offer a 1-year deal, not a 2-year deal. Play BC at LG and move him to LT in 2023? Just a hunch.

The 2 OL: Huge upgrades. Going from suckass to above average is great. Wish Bozeman were on a 3-year deal, but that will come. The S: I am concerned that he is going to play free safety when his is much better vs the run (or I would assume, in the box). His 58 grade in coverage is concerning. The P: Getting worse since 2013, but is average of late. The RB: Entering his prime and he will be liked. The DL: Situational pass rushing DT from the 3 or 5 tech. If we ask him to do more, we get burned. The LB: Not impressed. Maybe in our scheme he can be good, and I am convinced that I could have suited up and played in front of Carter. The WR: Camp fodder. OVERALL: We helped 40% of the offensive line (going from bad to above average). We helped the run game with Foreman--he is going to beast. We are better at S because Woods is better than Burris. Beyond that, we replaced the quality of players we lost. I still think this free agency was successful if we can add a third OL--free agency or draft.
