I spent about 35-40 minutes skimming through each game. It’s painful. Don’t watch it if you’re optimistic at all. That being said though, they still have the offense running the same Frank spread BS and throwing 5 yards 40+ times per game. So not really all that realistic either from what we are hearing about the philosophy.

I think Morgan is going to have a lot to do with it. He played under Mills and was there when Keep Pounding started.

I like the idea of white helmets. If we ever went to it permanently we would have to change home to the blue/white combo. White helmets on the black would look crazy. It would look cool with the white/white or white/blue

Stroud was salty panthers didn't draft him

It could also turn out to be the Winston/Mariota draft all over again. -
Didn’t we also start volunteer OTAs a day late for some reason too?

I’m more excited about this one than I have been in a while. Wasn’t on the Reich train last year at all. I felt like Rhule should have been fired at the end of 22. I hated the changes going into the 2nd Rhule year, mostly because I hated the Rhule hire the year before. I was excited in 19 last time I guess because I hoped changing to a 3-4 and Cam coming back from the 2018 shoulder would bring us back in the form we had before he hurt it. I guess I’m excited this season because I don’t think we can get any worse and the mood is more positive with this staff. Plus, I think Morgan will make better football decisions than Fitterer even though they worked together. I think Morgan just lingered in the background. Example-2022 Draft everyone is cheering after a pick and then they pause and look at Morgan who is on his phone. He glances up says “good pick” and goes back to minding his business.

For some reason I feel like we are going to win it somehow and then get our asses kicked the next 3-4 weeks.

Ron Rivera: 76-63-1 (3-4 Playoffs) John Fox: 73-71 (5-3 Playoffs) Dom Capers: 30-34 (1-1 Playoffs) George Seifert: 16-32 Matt Rhule: 11-27 Steve Wilks: 6-6 Chris Tabor: 1-5 Frank Reich: 1-10 Perry Fewell: 0-4 Dave Canales: ? We will see in a few years where Canales lands on this list. Facts are he could be a horrible coach and still manage into our Top 5.

Where does Moton rate among the all time CAR o-line players?
ProcessBlue2 replied to CanadianCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah there should probably be an asterisk there somewhere. -
I like the OL coach. He's not afraid to give people poo. Apparently Evero isn't either.

You know it might be so long ago but I remember Brockermeyer and Matt Campbell being solid in the 90s. I think a lot of people forget just how solid Jeff Mitchell, Kevin Donnalley, and Todd Stuessie were. In 2003 the OL only allowed like 25 sacks for the whole year. Wharton was severely underrated and Whale was good for a bit. Moton is probably Top 5, but I'm not so sure how much of that is because everything around him has been horrible so it's made him look significantly better. I really wish we would have moved him to LT back when. -

I wanted Stroud and I think Stroud had an excellent rookie campaign last year. However, I just get the feeling he's going to hit a Sophomore slump. A) I think a lot of people were taken by surprise by their offense, and I imagine there has been a great deal of time put in by opposing DCs to learn habits, tendencies, etc. B) Their schedule is much harder than last season and includes a Miami, Kansas City, Baltimore stretch in the middle of December. -
Yeah the 2020 team lost 8 games by a touchdown or less. They were even somewhat competitive in early 2021. After the Washington game loss during Cam's homecoming the Rhule era collapsed.

See I don't mind the black/black at home but I like saving it for certain games. I like the traditional Black/Silver for most. The Black/White needs to go away and never return. Really prefer the White/White away set. The White/Black just doesn't look right no matter how much they wear it. I actually like the White/Blue better than the White/Black. I've honestly never cared for the Blue uniforms at all in any combination. Although, the blue on white with white socks is way better than the blue on silver with black socks from back in the day. Yeah I've always found this frustrating too.

Yeah, its still slow round here y'all.

There were 3 reality checks last year. 1) The joint practice/preseason game with the Jets showed everyone the team wasn't what everyone at BOA stadium thought it was. 2) Dalton starting against Seattle and moving the offense better than Bryce had the first two games or all preseason. 3) Not beating the Bears who were just as beat up as us and knowing we gave them the No. 1 pick. I think Frank was fired after the Bears game. The blowout loss to Dallas and then not being able to beat an imploding Tennessee team just accelerated it.

I mean I think the best case scenario has to hit for the Panthers and everyone else in the NFCS has to hit their worst case scenario. Personally, I think this is the year that NO finally collapses and I think they finish 4th in the division regardless. ATL is overrated but still likely a 6-9 win team. TB plays tough football, their defense will be there but their success depends on the offense, they too are a 6-9 win team. The Panthers are probably 4-6 wins at best. If they find some sort of momentum during the season and get 7-8 wins, and TB and ATL struggle then maybe but I find it very unlikely.

Watch Terrace Marshall decide he wants to be a football player the final year of his contract. -
Yeah you are right but I will say this. I watched the long cut highlights of the Bucs games last year and you can definitely see a shift in their offense as the season goes on. If you go back to Seattle 2-3 years ago you see a lot of similarities. I get the feeling that the offense was still set up how Brady wanted it with personnel and a lot of people were out of scheme. The company I work for merged with another company from Florida recently so I have been forced to work with a ton of Tampa Bay and Jaguar fans (who knew Jacksonville had fans?). They really liked Canales but they thought he was trying to force a square peg in a round hole with how the team was set up. We are set up much more similar now to what he was used to in Seattle. His offense really isn’t that flashy, it’s pretty vanilla. He just throws a hellacious amount of motions and different formations out there. (I think he even mentioned this during the rookie pressers). He likes to keep people guessing on personnel sets and then gives them another whammy by going heavy PA. As far as the WRs I agree, a lot of this helps when you have Mike Evans and Chris Godwin on the field at the same time.

I don't really care TBH. Dude blew the game in ATL. If I remember right he missed a FG and XP to win the game. Yeah he has been accurate but the dude really hasn't had any other pressure situations. He made the two FGs to win this year that were shorter than XPs and the one in NO in 22 that was a useless game. He's a decent kicker but not proven enough to be acting like this. I'd like to see him get cut just to get a point across in the locker room. You have a fugging unproven kicker taunting you and holding out.

I think initially the plan was to build a dome when building a whole new stadium back when that was talked about early in the Rhule era. Then during Covid and the stricter policies I think Tepper told reporters that it changed the way he thought about a new stadium and referenced the nice weather in the Carolinas being another reason to rethink it. I think you only go after a dome if you build a new stadium which doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon. The only other reason I see a dome is if the plan is to get a SB bid which I doubt would happen because Charlotte doesn’t really have the infrastructure to support that kind of event. My guess is they are just going to use the money to upgrade the hell out of the existing facilities and then add those other rumored expansions.

I heard yall wanted Bryce to bulk up this offseason
ProcessBlue2 replied to thebdawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Say what you want but Matt Ryan and Eli had Granny arms and could spin it harder than Bryce ever has. We will see when the hype wears off. -
My expectations are very low for XL this year. He is a rookie and traditionally we don't develop rookie WR fast. I fully expect it to be the Dionte Johnson show this year with flashes of AT. I think somebody nobody expected will come out of nowhere and grab some limelight too. Marshall? Mingo? UDFA? who knows.
