  1. A mid round flyer qb is a wasted pick 99 out of every 100 picks. It’s the single worst investment in a draft pick. Case in point, people wanted to take Hooker in the 3rd round and now we have him on our PS
  2. Corbett was exceptionally bad yesterday and Bryce had trouble with the pressure. The coaching staff is playing the wrong players. Or Bryce is wanting Austin instead of Mays. Eye test said the secondary did good, I think Wallace and the turnovers almost single handedly tanked the defense yesterday. But that is still on Evero and Morgan, because it was inexcusable to go into the season with this as your linebacking crew.
  3. Tepper won’t clean house out of embarrassment. But that’s what we need, Morgan has appeared to completely whiff this offseason and wasted a ton of money doing so. The only focus this offseason should have been to improve the run defense which was worst in NFL history last season, and it somehow looks worse. Wallace looks to be the worst starting linebacker in the league and there were several options in free agency and we had the money. I think a good portion of that is because of Evero but a good coach and GM would have identified that Evero can’t scheme or coach and made a change. This team really, really, really can’t afford drafting another first round QB in 2026 because they sorely need defensive studs, and there are several in this upcoming draft. Just a gut punch of an opener and what’s even worse is if we cut BY he will be better somewhere else and we will be laughed at again, I just feel that it’s coming
  4. So glad we spent 140 million on run stopping players and it has virtually no effect. Bring back Marty Hurney please
  5. Offensive line is struggling big time, but we are snapping the ball at 0 on the play clock. For fugs sake change it up, this is a Carolina staple going on 15 years now
  6. There’s a 99 percent chance we move on from Bryce and he becomes a top 10 QB just like Baker. We are just a poverty franchise
  7. Evero has got to go. Not bringing in a veteran defensive coordinator will ruin this season
  8. That Ohio St. safety is a baller. He needs to be our pick but will likely go top 7
  9. I'd like the defense to be different and take the Jags off guard. It was puzzling what we did in preseason, so I am hoping that they just were vanilla and didn't put forth effort. With D. Brown, B. Brown and Moehrig, we should focus on completely shutting down the run. They aren't going to improve that much on defense from last year, but with those three additions, they should at least focus on stopping either the run or pass instead of letting both be terrible
  10. Two prospects to look at for our 2026 1st round pick... Texas LB Anthony Hill Jr, an athletic ILB that can play all over the field, and Ohio St. S Caleb Downs, a coverage safety with speed and ball skills. Both looked solid today
  11. I think every single poster on this board knows this is a make or break year for BY and knows he hasn't been consistent enough to warrant a big contract extension. I also think there are several posters here (CRA, LG in particular) who will never be happy with our QB situation unless we have a top 4 QB like Burrow, Allen, Jackson or Mahomes (and I'm fairly certain they would be bitching at Lamar if he was our QB). Getting a player like that is extremely rare and is something the Panthers haven't done in 30 years... and there's a good chance they will be waiting the rest of their lives as well because the Panthers have been a fairly unlucky franchise and are owned by someone who wants instant gratification. So for those hoping these conversations will go away, they never will. Cam had a lot of the same negative posts here as well except for one season. It's just part of being in the Panthers fandom
  12. Luvu is viewed by a lot of people as a top 10 linebacker, and we said no thanks. Dre Greenlaw is viewed by a lot of people as a top 10 linebacker, has been getting raved about in Denver camp, was a unrestricted FA looking for a starting spot, and we said "we'd rather give a backup DT more money" Two extremely puzzling decisions considering our 32nd ranked LB core and our GM is a freaking ILB, but I guess it's possible that both really didn't want to come/stay here
  13. Our defense is so poor behind the starters I expect there to be 5-6 signings
  14. Packers released LB Isaiah Simmons, the guy we almost took over Derrick Brown. He’s probably good enough to make this roster
  15. I would have kept Renfrow, he’s such a Bryce receiver and also I trust him more to return punts. I guess they just value the speed of Horn
  16. Panthers just need to sign whoever linebackers the Ravens, Eagles, Steelers, and Texans cut because they are likely all better than whatever we have behind Wallace and Rozeboom who should both be depth pieces anyway
  17. Everyone in the media is irrationally high on the Falcons, I don't get it.
  18. Might be the worst group of linebackers I've seen in all my years watching the Panthers. I don't think anyone besides Wallace or Rozeboom makes another roster. Hopefully they find a gem with other teams cuts or trade a WR for one. Here's hoping Wallace turns into Beason overnight. One good thing about Hurney is he always made sure we had a strong front 7 and a strong ILB group that could tackle and cover. Ever since he left its been utterly crap.
  19. I don't get trading him for a late round pick, which we have historically been very bad at making. The return will amount to be 0 and just trading your best receiver last year for nothing. Trade him for depth piece at corner or linebacker, which we desperately need. Vikings have a ton of depth.
  20. I don’t understand what defense they are trying to run. It’s like they are playing prevent and the game just started.
  21. Meh, I'm not panicking on the offense yet, especially since both teams opposing beat writers said we looked good in joint practice. Everything we have run is very vanilla, and unfortunately it looks like Canales is one of those coaches who doesn't care about preseason games or effort, which is disappointing. Defense though, continues to look rough and that should be one area in preseason where you just go out and execute
  22. I’m glad to know my comment can spark days and pages of conversations I never said Bryce was the best QB, we are set, he is consistent. If you read the rest of my post I said the jury is still out and luckily we can decide after this year if he’s worth the contract or not. But stats aside, which I didn’t even remember or care nor are stats everything, he did show as much advanced passing skill - ball placement, timing, footwork, zip - as anyone we’ve ever seen here towards the end of the season. I don’t see how that’s debatable. I’m a huge Cam defender, and Cam showed great poise and accuracy especially in 15 and 17… Jake had a lot of downs with the ups even from game to game.. both Jake and Cam had great leadership and intangibles and both are better than Bryce.. I’m not belittling either of them by saying that Bryce’s passing skill in that Atlanta game was very very good. Now if he regresses and isn’t consistent, starts being bad in the pocket again… then that is that and we can draft a new QB next year. I think even the most ardent Bryce supporters know he is on shaky ground.
