And they let him go. The Panthers can do better. Wait, they can't. They're waiting on Watson and have idiots in charge that want versatility in their stating linemen.

One by One they go off the board

The argument is that you have to protect the QB. I think they did a good job of pointing that out. -

Right because protecting the QB is totally overrated. Maybe a couple long time award winning sports journalists can explain it to you. -
Honest Question: Why would Watson choose Carolina?

Or most foolish

I'd be ok with that if they're sold on a QB in next years' draft. Sadly, I don't think the clowns in charge of the Panthers have the foresight to do something like that.

It's almost like the professionals know that you have to protect those highly paid QBs so they can do their jobs. But that's just crazy talk since a franchise QB can do it all on their own according to some here.

Tepper will let Watson name next head coach?

I have my popcorn ready and I'm making a pot of peppermint tea. I'm good to go. -

So Watson gets LeBron James power without being the biggest star in his league, best player in his league, and without winning a single championship? Tepper is a desperate dumbass. -
From what I've read, the Rams weren't desperate for a better QB even though they weren't happy with the recently extended Goff. The opportunity came up to trade for Stafford and they took it. That is not the same as the Panthers' blunders at QB since Rhule became coach and each increasingly desperate attempt the team has made to find a good starter since tossing Cam aside.

Since there is no clear definition of what a franchise QB is, it depends on how you define one. Is a franchise QB the face of the franchise? Is a franchise QB the starting QB? Is a franchise QB someone that consistently puts up high stats? Is a franchise QB some that has the support of the organization and they aren't looking to replace him? The San Francisco area news considered him the face of the team, so yeah, he could be considered a franchise QB.

This is a different situation though. The Rams and Lions weren't desperate to make that trade. The Texans haven't been desperate to unload Watson while the Panthers have shown they are desperate to acquire him. The Texans have all the leverage in any deal with the Panthers, especially with other teams looking to trade for Watson too.
