  1. We do know how awful. We also know giving up tons of assets to get “anybody other than Teddy” isn’t a smart football decision. If we can’t get a QB in the first then get a stud LT to protect him when we finally do get one. Don’t trade away 3+ firsts just to get ANYBODY else. That is nearsighted and reckless
  2. This is exactly what I don’t understand about the state of this place right now. Getting a QB is only PART of the rebuild. It isn’t the entire rebuild. Why is everyone so hung up on having to get a QB right this second? We still need help in the secondary, at LB, we still need to get a legit LT for the first time since Gross and solidify the line. We need another TE, we need another DT. We can’t fill all of the holes in one offseason. So if we can’t get our QB now then draft a stud LT, add some line depth, a #2 CB. Plug some of these other holes and get the QB next year.
  3. How would a rebuilding team trading away tons if future assets for an unproven rookie show he’s about winning? That’s a stupid move. All that would prove is he is desperate and will make poor judgement calls. Selling the farm for an unproven rookie one year into a rebuild would be incredibly stupid.
  4. The more relevant question is do you need a QB drafted in the top 10 picks to win a Super Bowl which the answer is emphatically “no”
  5. You are the one suggesting a rebuilding team throw 3+ first rounders at an unproven rookie a year into the real rebuild with a new staff and GM. As though that’s what’s gonna keep DJ Moore here. what are we talking about indeed. This board has lost all sense. Selling the farm for a rookie QB is not how successful teams rebuild. Period
  6. So then we franchise him. He isn’t walking dude. Wtf?
  7. If you are thinking bigger picture then it’s pretty obvious trading 3+ first round picks a year into a rebuild is a bad move... it’s the opposite if bigger picture. It’s short sighted. Rebuilding teams don’t trade all their assets a year into a rebuild with a new coaching staff and GM. That is the opposite of “bigger picture” I am thinking bigger picture when I keep telling people this is gonna take awhile
  8. Who is letting him walk? Where the hell are you coming up with this right now? He’s not going anywhere.
  9. Tired of waiting? Teddy was the QB for all of one season. You are tired already? This is exactly my point. When Luke and Cam left we all knew this would take 3+ years. And one year later you have lost all patience in finding a QB...
  10. Do you make new alts to moan with because your previous account is banned or do you just realize how stupid your overreactions sound and are embarrassed to make them with your main account?
  11. You are correct. That did sound quite stupid. To be fair, I’m on mobile and meant 22. That was still incorrect however
  12. Well in that case you are right. Retirement is imminent, his career is basically over. Maybe we can get him to sign for one more year at vet minimum.
  13. Legitimately meant to type 22 (still wrong, he’s 23 now) but point being that your doom and gloom bullshit is nonsense and everyone that understand football knew this rebuild would take longer than two years ffs As did his contract, are you even aware of how much cal space we have in coming years? You childish crybabies are getting obnoxious. “I WANT A QB!!!!! NOW!!!!!!!!” Grow up. These things take time. Get over yourself
  14. DJ Moore is fugging 21. I swear half this board is made up of absolute morons
  15. Within reasonable expectations, it takes longer than three years to properly rebuild a team. Anyone who thought this process would happen overnight would have been sorely fooling themselves. Moving on from Cam was inevitable sadly. His body has taken so much punishment and he hadn’t been healthy for a few season. I wish we had let him finish his contract rather than sign Teddy, but speculatively I think that decision had more to do with Joe Brady wanting a QB he was familiar with than anything else. Luke retired which meant we lost an all time great. TDs career was sadly at its end. Bradberry surely had more to do with Hurney than with Tepper. KK couldn’t stay healthy. We were in a full on rebuild when he got here. Terrible Oline, no QB, no LBers, no secondary, barely a DL. What was he supposed to do. Technically speaking, everyone thought we would have the worst record on the league last year. So in some sense, judging it on record and expectations, he has been more successful than many suspected this early on.
  16. I mean he’s investing in new facilities, he’s shown a willingness to move towards the more modern way of thinking in terms of team building etc. How many years did JR have here? Now how many years had Tepper been here? And when Tepper came we pretty much lost our former MVP QB and a host of elite defenders. Comparing them at this point is silly. JR had decades. Can we give Tep more than 4 years before we start asking “what has he done to be better than JR?”
  17. Same. Desperation rarely works out for a team and giving up loads of assets for even proven players doesn’t typically work. I definitely don’t want to do it for a rookie.
  18. I’m not really trying to take a shot at you and I know you frequent here more than I do. Unless we are on the verge of the season, in season or in FA-Draft, I don’t visit here often. You would know better than I. I more just roll my eyes at political stuff being reeled back into the forums in the Panthers sub. Associating June 6 protestors/rioters as domestic terrorists, no matter how right you may be about that assertion, will bring nothing positive to OPs conversation and tends to be how the main subs threads get derailed and locked. OP made a reasonable request about a football related issue. Turning it into a political issue doesn’t belong here imo
  19. Guess we all just have to take your word for it then. For what it’s worth, I don’t personally remember any of the ads you mentioned. But what do I know? Also, OP is right. Watson may well be innocent but none of us know the details. It’s pure speculation on anyone’s part. Why side one way or another before things play out in court? Seems irresponsible at best.
  20. I agree, but that said, he isn’t making a name for himself against big schools either. In fact, he’s most difficult game was against a relatively small school. Anyone on board to invest the next 3 1st round picks in a guy like that... I’m glad he’s not the GM. RG3 was a NFL proven commodity and look how that trade worked out. Doing it for a BYU rookie? Nah.
  21. 3 first round picks for an unproven rookie that played for BYU against minimal competition? I certainly hope not. The way the league is structured, if you truly want to be successful then you need to draft a QB and hit a home run and maintain other assets to build around him. But I certainly wouldn’t give 3 picks away for a small school prospect. I wouldn’t even do it for Treavor Lawrence. If we doesn’t pan out then we are postponing this rebuild for 3 more years potentially. No thanks.
  22. Here’s what I’m wondering (probably a stupid question but I just genuinely don’t know) but what happens if he plays well for us and we reach an extension agreement before the February void date?
  23. Lol a typewriter man. Like what people used to print text before computers existed. Antique technology. He was agreeing with you haha
