  1. I have been watching football since 1976, and I have never seen a team do that with a third string qb. The closest was the Bills against the Oilers, and the Bills actually took two quarters to do it. And they did it with their second string.
  2. Would handing the ball off to Chuba or Abdullah really do anything for a guy who has been in the NFL for 10 years.
  3. Greg Dortch sighting. As a Wake fan, I hope he does well, just not today. Although at this point, I am not sure it matters if he does well today.
  4. Don't think he would have made it anyway, but that was bad on the Cards.
  5. Four td lead with 4 minutes left in the third. Need to put CMC on the bench and leave him there.
  6. Need a nice long methodical td drive here to put us in great shape.
  7. Looks like he hurt his hand or wrist. Probably nothing major.
  8. We actually did run the ball on first down. Resulted in a first and 20. Don't blame them for throwing in that situation.
  9. A third is only the starting point in the negotiation.
  10. Arizona looks like they might need a back up quarterback for next year. I am thinking we trade them Darnold for a third round pick.
  11. Stupid decision and stupid play call by the Cardinals. Make them pay for it.
  12. https://www.nfl.com/news/injury-roundup-cardinals-wr-deandre-hopkins-not-expected-to-play-vs-panthers Kyler Murray and Deandre Hopkins not expected to play. It might be a battle of backup qb's.
  13. That was probably taken out of context. https://www.nfl.com/news/matt-rhule-on-why-panthers-didn-t-pick-qb-in-draft-i-just-believe-in-sam-darnold
  14. Last report I saw has Murray playing as a game time decision. Defense is probably preparing as if he will play. If Murray isn't playing we have a decent shot. The last time we played a backup qb was against the Texans, and we did pretty well. Of course, Mccoy is probably a little better than David Mills.
  15. Honestly, I don't think its even a question that if PJ plays great, he will start against Washington. He will. Of course, I think the odds of him playing great are not good. IMO, a better question is will Cam see the field against Arizona. If PJ is struggling, would Rhule put Cam in? Or maybe he puts Cam in for a few basic plays?
  16. I don't think PJ will do that well, although he might play well enough to win, especially if Murray is out. But on the slight chance he does play lights out against the Cardinals, then the amount of money Cam is making shouldn't enter into the conversation. Rhule should start whomever gives us the best chance of winning, period.
  17. That may be part of it, but Tepper wants to win now and Cam is far and away the best qb available. He is basically saying he doesn't care as much about the money as he does winning. Also, the long term cap hit isn't to bad. If Cam doesn't work out, it cost us nothing for next year's cap, and TB will be off the dead money hit. Next year, we are only getting hit with Darnold. Bad I know, but not as bad as some other teams. The Saints have 24 million in dead money for Drew Brees over the next two years. Matt Ryan's cap hit over the next three years is north of 90 million.
  18. You are mostly right, although Stewart was pretty good at short yardage. Towards the end, he lost some speed, but was a plow that was almost guaranteed to get a yard or two. We have done fairly well this year on fourth and short.
  19. Like Wilson? Don't get me wrong, I didn't care for the Darnold trade, but drafting is also a crapshoot that fails a lot more often than it succeeds.
