Another Reason The Panthers May have Traded Up To Get Legette
CPF4LIFE replied to SaltAndPepper's topic in Carolina Panthers
I get screwing over other teams as win, but for me it will be a true win once the picks actually work out. -

They are still going strong on Panthers twitter, although im starting to see a lot of those fans are on the younger side compared to here. -
23 and 24 will always be popular numbers associated with greatness.

Division opponents thread: Bucs, Falcons Saints news
CPF4LIFE replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think its frustrating that Bryce technically never had a good game against any team in the division. -
Bryce has to show a lot but as i just said in the other thread it looks like we are shaping up to be a pound the rock team so dont know how much of a positive that is in bryces evaluation. He will be ask to make plays when needed rather than carry us on offense. There is good and bad to that for me because i really want to see how much you can really put on his back right away. The elite QBs almost never have everything perfect around them so its easier to see that they are elite. All the new weapons will help bryce but can also take him out the equation.

BREAKING: Panthers signing Rashad Penny
CPF4LIFE replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
We are definitely trying to be a pound the rock team. The flipside to that is the QB will pretty much be more of a game manager. -
Bryce Young was always an outlier to be a success in the NFL and this was already known..the concerns were there. So it shouldnt be surprising to some people that its talks of moving on already after this year if he struggles, the concerns cant be improved on or fixed. Bryce has to show himself he can overcome them.

Where would the Panthers be if they sat Bryce Young last season?

Where would the Panthers be if they sat Bryce Young last season?
CPF4LIFE replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
So what is more important? what he did on the Saints the year before last or how he compares to a ROOKIE who clearly had problems adjusting to the LEAGUE last year on another team and it effecting win/losses? smh And you say im all over the place. Also, i clearly gave explanations for how the seattle game played out. Its rare a qb has to throw the ball 63 times so to think it would have been a theme for the season is ludicrous... the even bigger point is that its not necessarily his fault if he has to do it in the first place like he was calling the plays but for some strange reason you continue to hold that against Dalton as if its all on him and not the guys around him racking up penalties. If he is old terrible as you say it shouldnt matter how bad the defense was he played, he shouldnt have been able to throw for over 300 yds on them with no turnovers. But this is the narratives people pushed all season, why didnt bryce turn around and destroy and even worse defense against a winless vikings the next week? Do i need to layout how dumb this logic is even more? -

Everything i have seen is overall metrics....not specific. Some have bryce lower than that, some do blame the staff and coaches who give Feedback but that is opinionated. -

Im going off Daltons overall time in the league and experience....and that is good enough to win you a couple games. I know Dalton is good enough not to rank 34 out of 32 QBs last year. What about you?? -

Your obsession with seattle game is weird, when i have referenced other games. To completely ignore the specific circumstances of that game is just silly. A game with a record number of false starts which played a huge impact on the game because of the crowd noise so according to you that would have been the case in every other game that year right? Secondly, stop saying Dalton is 40 yrs old. The guy is 36, he isnt a fossil yet and clearly showed that...this is the ridiculous overexaggerating that always gets thrown into discussions to make people seem like they are saying something smart. Its also funny the narrative on theilen up until that game was that he was a fossil, washed up, couldnt play anymore and then be busts out 145 yards on 10 catches with Dalton. I dont care the team played, for someone his age thats good production he was catching heat along with everybody else. -

So let me ask you this, and this is assuming you watched the first 2 games of the season. The falcons game was a back and forth between to 2 bad teams until bryce throws 2 crucial picks to help atlanta pull away. The second game was a sloppy game where the defense scored and our offense did absolutely nothing till the 4th quarter, bryce even fumbles and saints return for a TD. If Dalton starts both of those games is the outcome and playout still the same for both games? -

Because it goes back to what i said earlier in my original post. We had a rookie in those games making ROOKIE MISTAKES, if you remove those are you saying without a shadow of a doubt we still lose those games against those teams? Falcons, Saints, Vikings, texans, bears, bucs. Werer those games losses no matter who was in there? And for the record nobody is saying this team was capable of 10 plus wins, you wont find anybody even implying that, im arguing the notion we are still a 2 win team with a different QB. -

CPF4LIFE replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
What if i told you specifically I referenced the games we could have won with Dalton and my question still wasnt answered? He says Dalton wouldnt have survived that many games but the games i referenced were at the very beginning of the season and the middle so Dalton wouldnt have survived the begining of the season? Thats sounds like a pretty big reach and if you tally those games up thats atleast 6-7 wins. Nobody is saying we would have been a top 3 team in the NFC and you wont find any post of someone saying that. But with what Dalton could have given us considering how these games played out and being in a crappy division there would have been more success. It aint crazy to say at all. -

CPF4LIFE replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Saying he wouldnt have survived would imply that Bryce and Dalton are the same QB. We honestly gonna forget Dalton has 10 plus years in the league has seen every situation and circumstance, BRYCE PLAYED LIKE A ROOKIE and made ROOKIE MISTAKES/DECISIONS . Dalton is not a rookie and has too much experience in the league to imply he would have went down the same path and came out worse. That is the inconsistency in this discussion. -

So in your opinion....Dalton doesnt beat the the falcons week 1, saints week 2, winless vikings, texans, falcons at home, bears starting a undrafted QB, neither bucs games where we only scored a combined 18 points in both games? Yes or no question. -

Probably win a couple more games. I love how people dodge the circumstances of that seattle game with the crowd and the penalties. IF we are at home or playing another team its a different story. You would have a point if the obsessive penalties and high pass attempts was a consistent theme throughout the season. -
Why Corbett (and Brady Christensen) will make good Centers

Im still not buying it at the moment. Im hoping the guy from UFA signings will make roster or we look for somebody in FA. -

I knew i wasnt wrong for really wanting tvondre sweat in the draft -
I also agree i think the plan is to run heavy and pass when needed. 20 to 25 passes for young a game and limit the turnovers.
