  1. Great pick. The Franchise has to make Bryce Young excel. We have to have an identity and Bryce needs a WR who can pluck anything out of the air; especially in the redzone. Gotta maximize our free agent spending on the O-line. This pick fits with a plan. We have a lot of size at WR. Good luck to defenses playing nickel defense. We’ll run right over you or pass right over you.
  2. Board still far superior to Panthers Twitter.
  3. I love Ivey in the 5th. I think he’s comparable to Mykel or vice versa.
  4. You can explain why it’s the end of the world. Moton is a core player who is still a top 10 RT in the league. We can extend and lower his cap hit if we want, and if he or the team doesn’t want to do that then we are paying a lot of money to a guy who is instrumental to our offense for one more year. The cap hit is not great, but at least he will play and play very well. Our problems have been dead cap.
  5. With the re-signing of BC, and the experienced depth built on the D-line, Dan has plugged a lot of holes before the draft, and really put is in an excellent position on draft day. We can really build this team in the draft the next few years with true BPA before we have to pay Bryce. This will allow us to have talent and depth on the team when we have to eventually pay Bryce.
  6. Wow. This is just awesome. Dan is killing it IMO.
  7. I don’t think you’re wrong at all, but he may be better with the dudes we have in front of him. I used to want Walker at 8, but would now rather trade back some and see if he’s still around. All depends on who is available at 8. Having said that, if there’s one position I trust Dan Morgan with drafting it’s LB.
  8. I think the attraction with Walker, especially considering the FA bolstering of our DL and the attacking SS we signed is that we can now have an attacking defense with Walker that will allow us to disguise pressure. Walker and the SS can blitz from anywhere, and you won’t know who’s coming. Add in that Jaycee has shown chops blitzing from his CB position, Evero has a lot of flexibility. I wouldn’t be surprised if we go CB in the 2nd if the guy from Florida St. is there. Our secondary is thin, but add another shutdown corner and we’re on our way. i think Dan has done a good job in FA. He’s allowed us to address depth and quality on offense if BPA is offense, and if BPA is defense we can really turn our defense into a top 10. i’m not high on Warren at 8. He’s not a top 10 talent at all, and would split snaps with Tremble and Saunders.
  9. Also, looks like if a top OT is there, makes a lot of sense to pick at 8. Doesn’t look like we have a lot of money to pay Icky after next season.
  10. We filled a lot of holes to allow us to go BPA, or trade back. If we can trade to the last third of the 1st round and pick up an extra 1st next year, I would think that is a real option if proposed.
  11. Part 2 is made after some further evaluations of players I really like for us (in no particular order): 1. Azareye'h Thomas (CB Florida St) - excellent size, length and tenacity. Excels in covering intermediate and crossing routes. He’d be excellent on the outside or at nickel. 2. Shemar Stuart (Edge Tx A&M): Monster for an edge. Quick off the line, used in stunts to create mix matches, natural strength, has the bend to get underneath the outside shoulder of OTs, and if you block him with a TE the TE dies. If you block him with a RB, the RB is launched into the QB standing 5 yards away. Did I mention he’s 6’6” 290 lbs? Monster, and who better to learn from than Clowney who had similar traits out of college? I would be fine with him at No. 8. 3. Marcus Mbow (RT): Others here have mentioned him, and I agree with the praise. Recent rumors that Moton may not be extended (boooo). However this guys is a monster athletically and would be a perfect replacement. 4. Isaiah Bond (WR Texas): Our offense had one of the lowest YAC’s in the league last year, because Legette can’t stay running after the catch. This will be Theilan’s last year, and we need Bond’s speed and route running ability. He can be moved in the formation to create mismatches too. Perfect Z receiver whose speed can take it to the house. Also, makes tough catches. This is the type of receiver we need to add to our core. 5. Tyler Shough (QB): Basically a tall Bryce Young in the pocket with stronger arm. Third string QB with two years to learn under Dalton and Young. Will be a luxury back-up. Amazing ball placement: https://youtu.be/SOX2TEq3rjg?si=qu_6CaKuASP4UcTA 6. Shout out to the size of Jalen Walker’s hands. Look at his tape and focus on his paws. Once you notice them it’s all you will see again when watching his film. 7. Good place kickers in this draft [ducks]
  12. If the Patriots or Jets don’t take Will Campbell, he will be there for us. Do you draft him? I wouldn’t be mad if we did. He’s by all accounts a can’t miss LT prospect. We have Icky and he improved a lot last year, and I would be happy to re-sign him. The reason why it might be a sound decision is that it’s clear, Bryce needs time in the pocket, and while our O-line is top 10 now, if Icky gets hurt, who slides into LT? Additionally, Icky can also move inside to guard if Lewis gets injured. Our O-line, while top tier, is thin, and ensuring the Bryce’s backside is protected for years to come and not vulnerable to one player getting injured is worth selecting Will Campbell. Campbell could also play guard. in short, it’s clear Bryce is a star with a great O-line. Ensuring the quality and depth of the O-line will cement the offense for the next 5 years, if we pick Campbell. Yes, we need D help, but what’s the point if Bryce has a shaky line due to a LT injury?
  13. I think Warren is good, but not top 10 good. Additionally, we drafter JT Sanders last year who plays the Y-tight end anyway. We need an in-line tight end. Warren isn’t good enough to justify making JT Sanders redundant. Waste of probably the last top 10 pick we will have in years.
  14. I’m fine trading back but there is a big difference in the talent available at 8 and 15 in this draft. If there’s a future All Pro at 8 you don’t trade back, ever.
  15. In addition to my initial reply, and in further in agreement with your point, if Mason Graham falls to us at 8, we take him. Do whatever it takes to get Deone Walker in the 2nd, and count Super Bowls.
  16. He has power but a narrow frame. His good play in college will not translate in the NFL unless he can develop off the ball skills like Jalen Walker. Pearce is super talented, but he needs to be moved around and have the acumen to play inside LB reliably. I think that’s what sets Jalen Walker a part, at this stage.
  17. This is a good point. I just think we need a RB that can spell for Hubbard and not miss a beat. We have invested in an O-line to have a great running game, and it’s a waste if we don’t have backs that can take advantage. We have no depth at RB. This is why I added Raheim Sanders who will likely be available after the 2nd round. It’s a tough call, but I don’t think it’s a fireable offense. Hubbard is not a homerun hitter, and I think Morgan drafted Johnson because he is. He felt the need to maximize the investment in the O-line, so understood the pick - sucks he got re-injured.
  18. I agree that we must go DL that fit your description. It’s a huge must, but I think Starks is BPA at 8, he’s an amazing once in every 10 year safety. Second round should be Deone Walker and I won’t hate it if we give up picks if we have to get him. I like him that much. If you hit home runs in rounds 1 and 2, the rest of the draft is forgivable.
  19. We don’t need a 3-tech at DT. D. Brown is our penetrator. His second season we tried to make him eat blocks and it just wasted his talent. On DL we need guys that can eat blocks and shed. Nolan is a classic penetrating 3-tech which will make him redundant and wasted pick in the first round.
  20. I hear you, but he’s not going to get those calls in the NFL either, and NFL OTs won’t need to hold him. He loses contain a lot too. When he’s blocked solely by RB he does well, but that’s not a first or second round pick. He’s smaller and less athletic than Brian Burns, but Burns could make up for it with lightning quick speed. Burns wasn’t good enough at setting the edge in Evero’s scheme which is why we didn’t pay him, and he was much better coming out of college than Pierce. I’m rooting for Pierce because he’s talented, but he’s not a three-down player.
