I can throw a rock at someone and kill them doesnt mean its should be legal because the rock is natural and from the earth.

 

 

I hope this was just a poor attempt at trolling, otherwise this is even more stupid than the original comparison.

 

 

The legality of the act of murder is not directly correlated to whether or not the rock is natural. If it was, then there would be separate charges involved for using a baseball bat vs throwing your rock, either way you kill someone, murder is illegal.  Using your analogy, we could also assume that tying cinder blocks to someones feet and throwing them into the river shouldn't be legal just because the water is natural and comes from the earth. The legality of the weapon itself in your scenario is totally irrelevant, which makes your comparison just as irrelevant.  Even if you cut down a cannabis plant, and some how managed to beat someone to death with it, the murder wasn't illegal because it was a cannabis plant, it was illegal because you murdered them.

 

Your statement also operates under the assumption that the sole reason to legalize cannabis is because it is found growing naturally on earth, when there are clearly other reasons, like medical and economic benefits, for legalizing this plant.

I like to show people this video when they claim cannabis has absolutely no medicinal benefits.

If you fail a drug test at the combine and there is no explainable medical reason then I come to the following 3 conclusions.

 

1. You just don't give a f***

2. You have a serious problem and need help

3. You are too stupid to realize you shouldn't do it before the combine.

 

Either 3 of those imo would mean that person shouldn't be drafted if I was a GM.
