Paging Brooklyn Bully (NYC questions)

Nice work!

I live two blocks from you. We'll have to meet up.

And yeah, man, you'll just walk straight down Flatbush to get to work. You have a restaurant in the building and a nice grocery store across the street.

Absolutely. I'm not sure about my schedule yet but I will definitely have plenty of free time. I figure I'll need to do the touristy things for a weekend and after that I'm up for anything. Hoping the city gets into the World Cup and there are some fun bars around to catch the matches.

Yeah, man, let's watch the Cup! There's a bar for every big country for sure, lol. Just pick which one you want to support and go get drunk. I wonder who has the best fans? "Little Italy" is now up in the Bronx but they'll go far. Maybe a bar that supports Spain? Irish and booze, sure. English and talented white guys, sure. Maybe a seedy Russian bar? Astoria, in Queens, is Greek but their team sucks. Greenpoint, in BK, is Polish, but they're worse. Does Poland even have a team? A Brazil bar will have some hot chicks. This may require some research.

Settled into my place in Brooklyn finally. Worked a few days thus far at the Barclays Center and been trying to explore as well. Took a walk over the Manhattan Bridge into China Town yesterday and just been walking around Mertro Tech today. At some point I should familiarize myself with the subway system I think.

too us about 2 or 3 months honestly.  china town is kinda neat, although dwarfed by the one in Queens(Flushing).  i switch at Atlantic/Barclays every morning to the D from the R, our studio is in Soho.  There are more than you think BBQ places that are worth a damn in Brooklyn

I'm in Fort Greene right now subletting a nice place that's perfect for me. About a 15 minute walk to the Barclays if I walk quickly. We will have to get together for some Panther pre-season games with Bully.. I think one or two of them should be aired nationally. Wouldn't mind watching some of the World Cup at a bar either. I don't really know that scene/nightlife around here at all. All I have done since being here is go to work, grocery shop, walk the manhattan bridge, and workout.

If we can't get to a cool bar to watch a Panthers game, I'll have it on via Direct TV. I'm excited for the Cup. You have to try 67 Burger! I just had it yesterday. SO damn good. Simply turn left on LaFayette on your way to work. It's at the corner of LaFayette and Fulton. They have amazing burgers and even beer.

Let's plan something for the Cup then. There is so much of NYC I have yet to see and really want to make the most out of these next few months.

If you have any questions about the city, just ask. I've been here almost three years and I finally feel I have a handle on it. It's almost pointless to make a lot of recommendations, however, as there is so much to do and see no one can see and do it all. The statistics are mind-boggling. More than 20,000 restaurants according to the Board of Health. 2,657 bars/nightclubs. Ten pro sports teams. Our borough has a population of 2,532,645 by itself. 468 subway stations. Over 13,000 yellow taxis. 80 museums. Welcome to the insanity! :)

But I do love BBQ. What places should I keep an eye out for?

If you are in Ft Greene check out The Smoke Joint, FYI they may have the best hot dogs in NYC(get them all the way but dont add the chili). A good bar to watch sports and is very close to Barclays is 200 5th, they have more screens than you know to do with and a tv for every table. There is also a Dinosaur BBQ near Barclays on Union between 3rd and 4th ave. Other spots u should check out near you is Peaches and Peaches Hothouse. I love Ft Greene area it's not huge or busy but what is there is quality. Little Brother BBQ is also super close to Barclays and is the closest I've found to back home which is on Atlantic and I want to say Vanderbilt or somewhere close to that.

    • Malcom Spence is the best player remaining, hope he’s there.
    • The era that you played in, and, more importantly, who you played with actually matters. Honestly, that's why these issues will be debated forever, as it's just difficult to say that this person or that person is better when you're discussing the passage of time. As for me, after Rice, Moss and maybe Megatron and T.O., there's probably a dozen or so guys that can be argued about to the cows come home. Personally, I'm not putting Fitz, Harrison, Johnson, Evans, or especially D-Hop, Jefferson, Chase or Hill definitely in front of Smitty (and Colston ain't even in the discussion). Context and all that stuff actually matters. Things like the triple crown matter.
    • Some of those guys? Yeah honestly you can.  I would 100% take Steve Smith over Larry Fitzgerald, Harrison, even Mike Evans. He is 100% a better player than those guys in his prime. If you look at the numbers Smith is historically under targeted in comparison to his contemporaries. He was only targeted 150 times or more only once in his career. Fitzgerald for example was targeted well above that 9 different seasons. Had Smith played with Peyton, Brady, Greatest Show on Turf, or even with Warner in Arizona he would broken records. His 2008 season was ridiculous accumulating 1400 yards in 13 games on less than 80 receptions. All time he also lost a season due to injury in 04, barely played WR as a rookie. Got robbed of 1k season with Clausen. Thats easily another 1800yds minimum that should have been tacked on to his #s. The only guys I’d say for certain are better than Smith are Rice, Moss, TO, Megatron, Julio Jones, Antonio Brown.
