I've said this all along... Lovie Smith is insanely overrated. He's consistently developed good defenses, but his offenses suck. This year he seems to have neither a good offense or defense.

Precisely. In 9 years Lovie Smith had three playoff appearances. Two of them (04-05) come in years with Rivera as defensive coordinator. Since he left, he made 1 playoff appearance in 6 years. That is not acceptable by any measure.
