shula vs chud

One team from a distance saw what Cam Newton was doing.....and credited Chud.

He was fired after 1 season. They quickly realized Chud was a boob and they hired a guy that luckily got attached to Newton

Most of your points are invalid. Really Belichick was fired from the Browns and never became a DC again till he took over the Pats. The Browns are a poo Org and a poor evaluation of a coach.

Shula's track record here:

12-4 in 2013

2-2 in 2014

What exactly does that say?

Going to raw yardage numbers means nothing when talking about ball control coordinators.....which is the standard Shula attack. His yards and pts per drive was just as good as anything Chud did. Difference is Shula's O was efficient in 2013

Yea because Football is based on all offense and the defense had no bearing on Shula's record. I think this year will prove all I need to say about that. Defense takes a step back and the offense flounders...

You don't think people mistakenly credited Chud when all did was really let Cam do Cam?

You don't think Clev fired him after one season (that doesn't happen even in the NFL) bc they realized he was not what they thought?

Chud is garbage. I hate ball control....so I don't care for Shula being here. I'd rather win playing a different brand that allows you to compete under more difficult circucmstances. I think ball control minds can get in games that simply become out of reach and being forced into stuff they don't do isn't effective. But it works. That doesn't make Shula bad. Just makes his offense limited in situations.

Football is a team sport and ball control is about complimetary football.

Meanwhile Cam Newton looks better than ever as a passer. We have a raw rookie WR in command for ROY.

Offensive line is talent issue. Not a Shula issue. He is the one dealt the bad hand which makes running anything consistent near impossible regardless of OC

Defense isn't takingf a step back.....they have been an embarrassment of late. Some fan favorite players deserve more bashing threads of late than Shula.

I find it rather comical people are using our record as an indicator of Chud and Shula's abilities as OCs.  Shula got veteran Cam, an elite defense and Riverboat Ron to compensate for his playcalling.  Chud had rookie/still learning Cam, a middle of the road defense and Scared Ron.  And no, not for a second will I believe that our elite defense is a product of Shula's conservative offense.  We simply have better players on our defense now than we did those years.  I'm not saying I'm a big fan of Chud, the over-reliance on the read option was annoying and the first half of his second season was maddening, but I'd take him over Shula any day.

This.

Comparing Shula to Chud is laughable.

Chud got a HC job due to his prowess as an offensive playcaller.

Shula is about to get canned for the 2nd time for his prowess or lack thereof in the play calling department.

Who says Shula is about to get canned?

If Chud has prowess and was a good offensive mind.....and coach....he wouldn't of been fired after 1 season. You know how bad you have to be to get 1 yr?

Chud = Turd

Shula = boring, predictable, but won't be the reason you lose games. 14-6 record and the 2 losses this year go on our D more than O

true, but with this year's D it might be a big reason we get blown out a bunch of times.

chudzinski is a much better offensive mind.  i'm just hoping and praying that shula's ineptitude is just good enough to not get cam killed this year.

True, which is why I don't like ball control O bc you work signifcantly out of your comfort zone when things go bad. Handicaps you in certain scenarios.

Means if ST or D stinks or you hit injuries.....the team win mindset becomes tough to achieve.

If we get some talent around Cam I will be ready to bring in a new OC. Right now, ball control IMO likely gives us a good shot. We are weaker around Cam than I think many acknowledge

He was bad at both

Didnt realize bad OC's get HC gigs.

Ill leave this hear for you

In 2011, Chudzinski was named the Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator. He took one of the league's worst offenses in 2010 and transformed it into one of the top 10 offenses in 2011 with rookie quarterback Cam Newton. The Panthers finished seventh overall in the league on offense, fifth in points scored, and set a new franchise record for total yards in a season.

They don't. Which is why Clev pretty much did what you never see....fired him after one year.

I think even my sister can understand OC and HC are two completely different things.

Chud did great as an OC which got him a HC gig. What he does as a HC is irrelevant as we are talking about OC abilities not HC abilities

The numbers, stats, and records speak for themselves.

Insert Cam and remove Clausen. Boom. That ain't coaching. That one move totally flips the offense.
