Pacers @ Hornets- final tune-up

Cliff in the post game tells a different story. The team is banged up and he is frustrated with the lack of effort. Not exactly the confidence builder you expect a week from the season starting.

Milwaukee is a few years away to be sure, but depending on what they get out of Mayo and Larry Sanders they're more than capable of spoiling the party.

Anybody scared about our backup PGs? Roberts and old man Pargo haven't looked entirely solid this preseason.

I wouldnt rule out a West/Hill trade for Zeller/Hendo

I think Roberts will be fine.  Pargo has had decent moments....especially against Orlando.

Remember all of our backups aren't going to be on the floor together in real game like they were in the preseason.    We're not going to see to many  Roberts/Pargo/Williams/Zeller/Biyombo line ups in a real game.

Just evaluating talent. 4 seed is our peak, 6 at worst.

Charlotte's peak is #1...

The East is terrible. Chicago is one injury away from the toilet, & Charlotte can compete with them.

Cleveland isn't gonna be as good as everyone thinks. After their big 3, their role players are worse than anything Miami had. Love & Irving are terrible defensively & neither have won anything in 9 combined years.

Charlotte will probably finish 3rd or 4th, but they could certainly finish higher.

we were competing for the #4 seed last year and were within a couple games of it having missed Big Al and Kemba at CRUCIAL stretches during that run with injuries.  if we grab the fourth or fifth seed we no question win at least two playoff games, hopefully Al never gets hurt, and MAYBE even win a series.

^ this happens, and after we make these improvements over the offseason, I bet people aren't picking us to finish 6th and 7th this year.  Yes, it will take time for us to gel.  Took the Heat an entire year.  But if you put any stock in preseason effort or preseason coach speak as it relates to us playing that Bucks roster on opening night for the first time the name returns, I'm sure you'll be glad to be wrong on Wednesday.  This team is good.  And even when we make moves and change the name the media still ignores our own big three and exponential improvement in bench depth/contribution (relevant to note Henderson and Taylor [whatever his fate may be] still exist).  I'm OK with that.  Cause we're comin.

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
