As soon as the season is over..

Player we must cut asap.

- Harper (the most useless player ever)

- Decoud

- Silatolu (a 10 years old kid can bull rush him)

- Chandler (thanks for trying..)

First to second string players:

- Bell

- Foucault

- White

- Cason

- Klein (you like him but he is a bad tackler.)

Promoted to first string :

- SHORT DAMMIT!

- Jones

- Norman

Everyone is  blaming Shula, but the one to blame is the one drafting OL like Edmund Kugbila, Amini Silatolu,.

And Ealy when the team need an OT bad.

I've given some thoughts and rewatched games, etc.  I'm starting to lean in the direction of football basics (tackling especially) coverage, endurance, as the problem.  That is a coaching problem.  This isn't necessarily Rivera either.  Yes, he is the ultimate, I agree and blame should be shared.  When players don't tackle, cover receivers, get down field with energy to make necessary cuts, etc. then the basics are falling off.  The coaching staff needs to get those issues corrected.  We have talent on the team and good coaching can make that talent great.

Silatolu was drafted by Hurney, not Gettleman. No way I bench Klein. Norman and Jones are already starting. Ealy was BPA and there were no OT's available in the 2nd worth taking at that point.

I keep coming back to this point - The biggest failure on this team is our offensive line coaching. Out of any position, O Line is the least about how physically gifted you are and more about how much you can control your technique and work as a unit. Yes we may not be able to always win 1 on 1 battles at tackle, but having one DE break free is not the end of the world.

When your interior line is being blown up by 3 or 4 man rushes, its not a personnel problem, its a coaching issue. Shout about Shula and Ron/DG as play callers/talent evaluators all you want, but for the love of god replace Matsko next season.

Did i say Gettleman?

No

I am talking about blame nothing else..........

Keep Klein if you like and watch him being runned over and missing tackles.

Harper, Decoud, White are not the only one responsable for the bad defense.

    • Been here since the Coliseum days. Hornets were the first pro team I ever rooted for. If they're ever going to get out of the gutter they have to establish a culture. They are trying to do that. I have no idea if it will be successful but it's a start.
    • I don’t think I'd go that far but there is definitely legitimate reason to ask how much he actually values winning and being great as a basketball player. He is very easily distracted with off the court stuff. This has been a public criticism of people like LeBron James with some of the newer generations of "stars". And it is 1000% valid and needed to be said. All I can say is I hope this is the year. If it is it will be apparent fairly early on. But I get the sense if the same themes continue as the upcoming season progresses the FO could look to move him before the trade deadline. It would suck for a multitude of reasons and I don't want to see it happen but if it did it would be on LaMelo and LaMelo alone because they've given him the keys and are finally putting pieces around him. If he wants to be a great basketball player and win he will be here and do what is necessary for the team to be successful. If not well....
    • Haha.  I remember my first Hornets season.
