Guess your missing my point.

Peyton Manning would not get hit as often as Cam has this year because he is a completely different style of player.

And you are sure yesterday's hit would have put Manning on the concussion list because... ???

Because you would like it to be so???

You are talking out of your butt. Manning has been in the NFL for 17 years. Let's see how long Cam Newton lasts...

So I guess your saying our O-line is great, top of the league, our OLine is better than Denver's...lol keep dreaming, and quit talking out of your butt.

Speaking of last season though, the Panthers finished 29th in passing offense, while Newton finished 16th in passer rating and 16th in completion percentage.

 

This despite playing with 3 receivers who are going to top 1000 yards this season, a solid offensive line, two stud running backs in Williams and Stewart and Pro-Bowl fullback Mike Tolbert...

 

But we need to "build around Cam"...

You don't know how stats read at all. Or how to use this site..

The reason we were a lower ranked passing game was YAC yards being the lowest in the league by our WR.

A second ranked defense giving short fields to work with..

Better special team play getting better field positions.

And offensive play-calling used more to support the defense then to score on it's own.

Look at Cam's 1st and 2nd season passing rankings. When the team had a more dynamic play caller and the team had to depend on the offense going 80+ yards to score and win a games.

He's also had some great talent around him his whole career and that's what's frustrating about this. This organization has basically thrown Cam under the bus with the talent they've surrounded him with

 

 

I realize it's not possible, but I would like to see Manning,Brees,Rodgers,Luck,Wilson,etc, play with the same team and weapons that's at Cam's disposal to see how they fair. In my honest opinion,it wouldn't be real good.

Cam finished 16th in NFL passer rating in 2012.

He has never finished higher than 15th.

 

He currently sits at 27th this season, ahead of only 3 rookies (Carr, Bortles and Bridgewater) and probable complete bust Geno Smith.

 

Newton actually landed in a propitious spot in Carolina...he benefitted greatly from playing in Chud's gimmick offense for his first two years...and was protected by a very conservative approach last season...he just wasn't asked to do very much...and didn't.

      An odd little vibe I've noticed here of late: some folks are "all or nothing" to an absolutely extreme level when it comes to Bryce. There are, in fact, things Bryce does well. Likewise, there are areas in which he's improved over his time here. He has, on several occasions now, legitimately helped us win games. On the flipside, there have been failures in other areas as well as coaching that we're not in any way his fault.  And finally , it is also genuinely possible that the team may see him as the future, even if we don't. The craziest part, though? It's actually possible that they're right and we're wrong. All of this is true, and more, yet if you accept any of these premises people go from zero to apesh-t in under three seconds 😳 Anything less than total disavowal of Bryce and / or agreement that he's the worst QB of all time and suddenly you're a "stan". Oy 🙄 The reality though?  Bryce is indeed an NFL quarterback. Not a great one, probably backup level good, and I've seen way worse. Now, if you run that statement through your personal Google translator and it comes back with some version of "I want to throw 50 million a year at Bryce for the next 10 years", that's not really my issue it's yours  I don't wanna make him the franchise quarterback, but it's not my call. Win or lose, the team is going to do what they think is best. And as always, if it disagrees with what I think we should do, I'm gonna hope I'm the one who's wrong. Internet clout means nothing. Watching my favorite team win at my favorite sport meas fun 😁

      I like Icky but he was the wrong tackle to take. Learning run blocking is much easier than learning pass blocking. Cross was pass pro ready. He was the tackle we should have taken without hesitation.
