regardless of the outcome of this game, Rivera needs to be fired tomorrow.

Talk all week was how we control our own destiny, win and you're in.

We come out and give up TWO BLOCKED PUNTS IN THE FIRST HALF, BOTH RETURNED FOR TD. I have never witnessed such failure in my history as a football fan, from peewee football on up.

The status quo and mediocre efforts are not acceptable, and someone needs to make that clear tomorrow.

Like I said in the gameday thread, the entire FO should be evaluated for overseeing this debacle. Gettleman included.

we've see everything we need to see from rivera and his group of inepts.

i want to see what gettleman can come up with when given the chance to pick his own coaching staff from top to bottom.

but he needs to own that clusterf*ck he is responsible for on the OL.

won't get an argument from me.

at least one person should be fired tomorrow....rodgers.

then shula the week after that if they don't win.

then mcdermott.

then rivera at the end of the season.

No doubt Rodgers should be, but Rivera needs to be. Enough is enough. It's his responsibility to oversee his staff and ensure that they, as well as the players, are prepared to win each and every game. Too often, and today is the most obvious example, he doesn't have us prepared.

But the problem is that if Rivera and Co. weren't his guys, then why are we sitting at this point now?

who do we put in his place?

not that it matters.

totally agree on it being on rivera's shoulders for us not being prepared.

he gave rivera & co a chance and it paid off last season. we just didn't realize how much of a fluke that season was going to be. couldn't fire rivera after last season. there was no reason because it seemed like rivera turned the corner when really it was just a blind squirrel finding a nut.

    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
    • The last 8 weeks, Nix had 2,022 yards, 21 TDs, 6 INTs on 70% completions While Bryce's last 8 games he had 1,709 yards, 12 TDs (albeit adding 5 more rushing), 3 INTs on 61% completions. I'm not going to pretend I watched those Broncos games to know exactly how Nix actually looked, but in retrospect, his statistics were better.  Hell, in just his final 8 games, Nix had only 5 less TD passes than Bryce has in his 30 game (28 starts) career. And you said he had better WRs than Bryce did, but I'm not even sure that's even true either. Sutton and Thielen might be completely different types of WRs, but I'd say they are pretty equal on effectiveness if not even a slight edge to Thielen (63.6 YPG for Sutton to 61.5 for Thielen).  Then XL and Coker vs Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vale, again, at worst a push, if not lean in our favor there too. Why is it so hard for some Panthers fans to just objectively look at our team/Bryce and be honest with themselves. ? He was significantly improved the final two months of the season from his first season and a half.  But he was still a below average QB during that time, even if he had a few good throws and clutch moments.
