Ron Rivera said again Derek Anderson will start. Talked to him about it last night. #Panthers

 

Rivera said #panthers expect to see Cam Newton tomorrow at Stadium. Said it's a week to week thing.

Rivera : this will be a week by week thing - just like the rib injury. Don't want to expose him to further harm

 

Rivera said team will see how Cam Newton is next week. "We don't want to expose him to any further harm." Joe Webb is the backup.

 

Rivera added on injury "It doesn't look good. I'm not going to sugar coat that.'' Doesn't want to make it sound like it's simply one week.

Much respect for Rivera's approach today. He sounds like a man concerned about nothing -- not wins nor playoffs nor job -- but Cam's health.

 

“He has that smile, a way of flashing it to show things will be ok. So when he did flash that smile, I knew everything would be ok.” - RR
