Who I've become sold on that don't seem like 1-yr wonders

I wanted to be patient with a few guys that were either seemingly random pickups or a late draftee, but now after a month+ of solid play, I'm sold on them in their current or increased roles for next season:

Bene Benwikere

What more can be said of his play?  Just wow.  He's a vet in a rookie body and it makes sense why we traded up for him.

Fozzy Whittaker

I've really liked this kid and not just for the name.  Consistent + solid in college and he's made the most out of limited touches.  3 TDs this season off of like 40 touches.  Has great burst and elusiveness.  Whether he's in a RB3 or RB2 role, he's a good added element to both our screen and run game.

Mike Remmers

From the looks of it, this guy has bonded very fast not just with the rest of the revamped OL but the whole offense.  It took the staff a way too long Chandler experiment ending to bring him in, but when they finally needed a new RT, DG found one and this guy looks to be the part of an NFL RT.  I don't know long term, but I'm comfortable with him to start next season.

Tre Boston

I see the other thread about him but want to give him another quick shout out.  The way he stuffed that run plus his defensive positioning and awareness looks great.  I imagine he could go through some growing pains next year but I'm optimistic so far.  I don't think he'll need to be a full time starter quite yet but he could move into that role by mid/late next season.

Andrew Norwell

Yes.

Honorable mentions: Colin Jones, Philly Brown, Adarius Glanton

We've got a young hungry group.

But they have not been for more than a year so how can you already declare them NOT-1yr wonders? I will wait until next year before crowning them but no doubt they are playing well this year.

You've got to be cautiously optimistic with guys but if they really show a certain level of play, then I think they become obvious fits.  You've got guys that showed something early on but then proceeded to become worse...and worse like Colbert, Godfrey, McCree, there have been plenty, but these guys look the part to me.  Sure it's early to proclaim this but the level of their play since coming in has been enough for me.

Bersin has made some key first down catches for us this year and has been pretty sure handed. I can't see throwing him under the bus for one screw up.  Yea we definitely need a new kick/punt returner but he has done decent as a receiver in his limited touches.

    • frank, that ball was very catchable where it hit his hands. I don't even think he bent at waist until after he dropped it. He actually slows his pace to position himself to catch the ball. That will never be a pass I'd blame on the QB.   NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-54-54.mp4
    • https://overthecap.com/position/left-guard   Lewis is the 9th highest paid Left Guard in the league. I bet it was higher when the deal was done two years ago.    https://overthecap.com/position/right-guard Hunt #3 highest Right Guard   There is a tab in the upper left portion of the graphic that allows looking at the different positions.
    • It was a great play, but a better catch than throw. The TE boxes out Moehrig for position. Jumps to catch the ball. Catches it and turns 180 degrees while he's still in the air. Comes down and toe taps to stay in bounds and lunges for the goal post. That first part where he boxes out Moehrig for the ball is huge. If he doesn't do that and simply fades back to catch the ball (this is why Bryce doesn't trust XL), then Moehrig likely undercuts the pass for a break up or INT. Stafford trusts his receivers to make plays for him. Here I slowed it down so you can see it. Great play but amazing catch and score by the TE.  NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-45-32.mp4 NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-44-37.mp4
