NFC Playoffs: Lions (11-5) at Cowboys (12-4)

Lions RBs include Reggie Bush (healthy now), 220-pound Joique Bell (1,182 yds, 8 TD from scrimmage this season), and Theo Riddick, a 23-year-old out of Notre Dame

The Lions could opt to use Riddick a little more in the passing game than they have recently. He's shifty and elusive and can make plays in space. His four receiving touchdowns are tied for the most in the NFC by a running back. Receptions by Lions RBs this season:

40 Bush

34 Riddick

34 Bell

The other Dallas receivers:

age 25 WR Terrance Williams (6-2/208 with 4.48 forty, born and raised in Dallas, went to Baylor just south of Dallas) - has 8 TDs and is #4 in NFL with 16.8 yards/rec (last year he was #6 in NFL with 16.7)

age 25 WR Cole Beasley (5-8/174 with a 4.49 forty, born and raised in TX, went to SMU in Dallas) - Beasley is terrific in the slot for Dallas. The Lions have struggled this year against guys like Julian Edelman and Randall Cobb in the slot.

age 32 TE Jason Witten - the 9-time Pro Bowl/6-time All-Pro TE had 703 receiving yards on the year and is the second tight end in NFL history (Tony Gonzalez) with 700-plus receiving yards in 11 consecutive seasons.

Dallas K Dan Bailey has made 89.8 percent of his field goals (114 of 127), the highest mark in NFL history (min. 100 FGs). His career FG% of 89.764% is 2nd-best in NFL history behind current Ravens kicker Justin Tucker. Bailey went to Oklahoma State where he won the Lou Groza as the best college kicker in the nation

Stafford is 0-17 on the road against teams with winning records.

Dallas wins big

only 0-3 this year:

Cards beat Lions in Arizona to advance to 9-1, best record in NFL at the time

then Patriots: Nobody beats the Patriots in NE

then GB in Lambeau which everyone is terrified of

As for previous years, Stafford didn't have the D he has this year

Cowboys are only 4-4 at home this year and only 2-3 at home vs teams 8-8 or better (lost to 49ers, Cardinals, Eagles, beat Colts and beat Texans in OT)

Also, Stafford went to high school in Dallas, and he is 1-0 in Dallas, a 34-30 comeback win in which the Lions scored the final 17 points.

"It's always fun to back there and play," he said. "I've done it once in my career ... It'll be fun. ... it'll be fun playing in front of a bunch of my friends and family (again)"

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
