Well, reports are that Madrid indeed accepted Arsenal £50m bid for Benzema but Benzema refused to move.

Heard it was because Arsenal wouldn't pay the entire fee up front myself. Either way, he's staying.

Sky source said Madrid accepted it and Arsenal was planning on flying him to Emirates yesterday but Benzema backed out.  Apparently he don't  want to leave Madrid.  I think Wenger did not meet his salary expectations.  Remember, England taxes a lot more than Spain.  And Benzema was quiet about Arsenal interest until yesterday.

Apparently after Madrid accepted 50m offer, Arsenal met Benzema agent in Madrid after that the talks went south for some reason and both Arsenal negotiator and Benzema agent went different directions.  After negotiations broke off, Benzema posted a picture of himself in Madrid jersey.  Clever...

Wenger is stubborn as hell...  If someone (media) will tell him he should buy a striker, he will not do it just to spite them...  He done that for the past 5 years.  Looks like Wenger got at it with Garry Navel from Sky News...  Navel called him a stubborn fool for not getting a striker...  So Wenger said he's no longer looking for one.  Instead, Wenger signed like 15 teenagers this year..........  Someone should remind Wenger it's not 1990s anymore...

Manchester City agreed on a deal for De Bruyne for £54m...  So Manchester City spent close to £200m already in this transfer window.  I don't see how they will avoid Fair Play Rules unless they bribe officials.  Manchester City is a horrible team and most of their fans jumped on bang wagon within last 3 years.  I remember when their stadium was half empty cause they did not have enough fans...  Manchester United start sucking and all of the sudden Manchester City stadium is sold out lol.

De Gea deal is done, Man U get Keylor Navas and around 30 million euros in return.

United has made some strange moves with loaning Januzaj to BVB and buying a 19 year old Anthony Martial from Monaco.

Wenger went to Paris today to complete the deal for Cavani but PSG said...  Mmmnn, too late for that....  This might be the biggest error of Wenger career so far.  He waited until the last second to buy a world class striker at discounted price but none were available...  Instead, he sold and loaned out all his strikers except for Giroud and injured Welbeck...  This can seriously cost him his job as a manager.  Wenger is losing it...

De Gea deal is done, Man U get Keylor Navas and around 30 million euros in return.

Apparently, Manchester United failed to finalize paper work on time and De Gea is staying in Manchester United and will be Free Agent in 9 months...  Major fail by MU...

just got the ESPN update saying the deal fell through. major SNAFU by Man U. If I'm not mistaken, can't Real now arrange for De Gea to join on a free transfer in 3 months from now (with less than 6 months left on his contract) ?

Yes.  Manchester United just lost 40m pounds...  Huge error...  Someone will get fired.

I think Manchester United waited until last second to sale because they were afraid Real Madrid would turn around and sale Benzema to Arsenal to cover De Gea cost.  Instead, Manchster United lost 40m pounds.  Epic.

Depends how he finishes...  He was given 70m pounds by the board and was told to sign a striker at all costs...  Arsenal board even made it public that Arsenal looking to sign start striker... He tried to be clever and underbid for everyone until it was too late...  Then no one accepted his bid because teams did not had enough time to find a replacement.  Wenger went into panic mode 3 days prior to window close and failed again... Surely the board and owners are furious.  If Arsenal struggles this season it's almost 100% certain Wenger is done.  No reason to have 350m in transfer fees sitting unused in a bank account and have struggling product on the field.
