Why "NOT" to take Press Conferences seriously this week

i expect there to be contradictory comments from gettleman and rivera or at the very least comments that would lead us to believe that they aren't on the same page (which might be true), but i won't be foolish enough to think that they are laying many of their cards on the table at all. everything they and anyone else says should be taken with a couple grains of salt.

 

if teams have much of an idea what direction they are going to go with the draft, they'd be dumb to say much about it. i think quite a few teams, tho, won't have any specific plans for the draft until they get a better glimpse of the players....and that glimpse won't be what they see at the combine, which i think is only useful for borderline players who don't have a hype machine behind them and need some noticing.

 

the combine is pretty much just fluff.
