Vice: Killing Cancer now on YouTube. must watch

Just watched it.  I was surprised to here that it may become available as soon as next year.  Seems like the side effects are similar to other cancer fighting treatments, such as nausea and fatigue.  Totally worth it if you are only going through a round instead of five or six.

Seems too good to be true.

Also, worried that cancer is far too profitable to ever be allowed to be cured.

Survival rates for cancers have increased over the years. It will be more profitable to have people live longer so that you can have them buy dick pills, vaccinate annually with flu, shingles and continually feed them all those heart medications.

Also, this would make more sense if only a capitalist driven society was the only one trying to research a cure. As is stands now, there are not for profit hospitals in the US, as well as scientists in hospitals and universities in countries that have "universal" and cheap healthcare like Canada and Europe.

With cancer causing losses of around $130billion each year to the economy due to lost productivity from premature deaths, there is absolutely no incentive whatsoever for the NIH to not find a cure. Scientist are trying hard but there are still somethings that we haven't figured out yet.

I wish I could read the publications on any of those treatments. This is interesting because cancer patients are basically immunosupressed during therapy. How have they handled any other infection during this period without being cured from their cancers? Do HIV patients not normally have cancer? Seeing that most cancers often present to the body as an immune privileged site, it makes sense that the virus can basically go in there and cause a lot of cytotoxicity without being hindered by the immune system.
