PS3 Slim vs XBOX 360 Elite

The latest article that I found compares these two systems. I definitely am getting one of them soon because the Wii just isn't satisfying me the way that I thought it would. Madden is pretty fun, but shooter games suck, and these are the two games/game types that I enjoy most. So I'm selling the Wii, and going to get one of these systems along with Madden 10 and a shooter game.

The table in the article says advantage PS3 because of built in wifi, blue ray and free online play, but i'm looking for opinions from others who have played or owned both.

I am currently leaning towards the PS because of the advantages mentioned and the fact that many friends already play COD Modern Warfare online. When I had a 360, Halo 3 got old quickly due to all the brats with their T bagging. Something I never did no matter how long my spree was.

That chart is retarded. PC's become outdated so fast and uneligible to run the future games in no time and I Wii's plain suck. Multiple real friends play online together on the Xbox and there's even a few friends of mine that also have the PS3.

Anyways, I still think the PS3 is a better buy for them both being 300 dollars now.

PS3 doesn't have the library of games that 360 has right now, plus Live is better than PSN (of course, you're paying for one and not the other).

Then again, what good does that do when your 360 gets the red ring of death for the third or fourth time and have to ship it away? I had to deal with the disc read error problem with the PS2 and because of that problem, I went with a PS3.

I think if you are a BIG game player, the 360 is for you. But if not? PS3. I have one, and I have one game for it (in addition to FF13, when it comes out). I simply don't play a lot of videogames. But I DO watch a good deal of movies, and that's where the Blu-Ray player comes in.

So, if you're a 5-10 hour a week gamer who only buys games that you KNOW you're going to play over and over again, PS3. If you play games over ten hours a week and rent a new one every other day, 360.

I had my PS3 since launch and I enjoy it, & I only play about 8-10hrs a week, its got some solid exclusive titles but I mostly use it for watching blue rays.

Its a quality system no doubt

I was supremely jealous of my roommate in college when he was playing MLB The Show on his PS3 and I was stuck playing the abomination that is MLB 2k9 on my 360.

Exclusive titles drive me crazy but I understand why they do such things.

Not to mention Gran Turismo, probably the greatest driving series of all time.

I wouldn't mind taking a chance on the ps3 if I had the opportunity to do it over again. The slim design and price cut is cool and buy the looks of it seems you have already made your decision especially if your friends play it.

But I do love the xbox 360 and mine has been good to me since I got it except for the disc tray sticking which I still need to get fixed. Xbox live is a great service and online play is awesome. You will like whichever you get. Xbox has better games right now and if you get the Elite you will have more memory you will ever need. Personally I think the xbox 360 controller its the best controller ever made.

knew you'd say that, and having owned one in the past I know why. the PS just looks like the system for me now because of blue ray and PSN being free. also I still have a bad taste in my mouth from 10 yr olds t-bagging on Halo. in short the PS seems more for grown ups.

several people around work spend endless hours playing modern warfare on PSN, and I haven't heard any complaints from them. i don't think i'll be on there as much as i was in my halo days anyways.

has any online game lobby been as good as any of the halo's yet? i tried some other games, and after the quickness of halo they were painful to get into.

    • I wouldn't be opposed to trading for Sanders and seeing if he could be developed here. We have zero plans, and I really don't think it would take Sanders long to produce more than Bryce has. Plus, he's on a 5th round rookie contract and if he became the guy, you instantly have three years to build a core of talent, much of which we already have.  I get flamed for this opinion but it is what it is, and I've been right about these type of things the past three years.  I said Nix would be a good NFL QB. Wanted to keep Darnold and trade down in 2023. Said QB play wasn't the QB's fault under Rhule, but rather the offensive design.  Give me Sanders in the room for a year with Bryce and Dalton, see what he can develop in to on the cheap. There are no really quality QB's coming out this year that aren't Allar or Manning, and Manning may not even be coming out.
    • basically if the panthers trade Thielen they're not trying to win this year. I mean they're not going to regardless but this means its the plan not to.  no team is going into the season in 2025 with 80 career catches between their top 3 healthy WR.  you'd be turning this from a bottom 3rd of the league offense to like the nathan peterman bills pair that with a defense that is most likely going to struggle, and they're looking at 2001 again.
