Call to Cut Ties with Hardy was Big Cat's

There was a time when the Panthers considered hanging onto free agent defensive end Greg Hardy.

But that time ended when owner Jerry Richardson decided he didn’t want to go down that path again.

Richardson told David Newton of ESPN.com that the decision to let Hardy walk was his alone.

“Whose call would you think that would be?” Richardson said.

Multiple players had lobbied for Hardy to return, but in the end, the owner’s opinion was the only one that mattered.

Asked why, Richardson replied: “We do the right things.”

I agree with the call, but this is more for those who believe that Richardson doesn't have a direct say in contracts and personnel.
