NFL Memo: prospect video conferences count toward 30-visit limit

So about those "Skype visits"...

@JasonLaCanfora

"The NFL clarified the video conference rule today in response to team inquiries as to how the technology could be applied.

NFL memo sent to GMs informs teams can have video conferences w/draft prospects outside club's metro area but it counts vs. 30 visit limit.

Any video conference w/ a draftable player must be reported to NFL in advance and counts as a formal visit. Cannot overlap w/his school sked."

It had been previously reported by some members of the media that such visits didn't count toward the 30 allowed because the player wasn't physically traveling to meet with the team.

Seems the teams probably knew this, but the media insistence to the contrary likely led to this clarification. Though if a team did have this misconstrued, they've probably gone over 30 at this late point.
