Cornerback battle an interesting one at Carolina Panthers Training Camp

To relieve some pressure on the DBs we really need our DT's to put pressure up the middle. Need to get in the QB's face more and push the pocket. We have the guys and I think Short will lead the way.  Hoping Star steps up a little more.

I miss Chris Harris. We haven't had a hard-hitting safety in years.

didn't he force like 13 fumbles or something ridiculous when he came in that year? he brought a veteran savvy the defense hadn't seen in years. he was integral in building the 2007 defense (and one of the only highlights that entire year) and was a key cog in that run in 2008 (i'll never forget him stripping antonio gates at a critical moment, a guy who had like two fumbles in his entire career.)

Now we just need to work on the safeties.....

With you here---HOWEVER---I think we have.  Boston will be in his second year, and let's face it, the Seattle game was a bit too big for him last year.  Hope he has learned from it.  But Rivera stays loyal to his past, and he seems to see 2006 Roman Harper and not 2015 Roman Harper.  I think the way we use Thompson will help, but I am not happy with the SS situation and I am a bit worried about the FS position.

Look at our defensive backfield:  A 34-year old, 2 fifth rounders, a fourth rounder, and a gray-haired Dr J look alike at SS. I still feel the comp is better. and overall the talent is better.  Norman has swag and is in his prime, Boston and Benwikere are no longer rookies, and the depth is a bit better.

I beleive Star takes a step forward with getting to pressure to the QB. Looking forward to middle of OLs collapsing non stop with KK and him
