Trade Deadline Moves, News, and Speculation

Denver is also 7-0 and they make a trade to find a blanket for manning.  I understand the thought process of not making any changes but cam gettin a new shiny weapon could be the difference maker in a super-bowl appearance.  I have faith regardless but to not even consider the opportunity to upgrade a position of need that has its flaws is not unreasonable.

Our window with Cam is a little longer than Denver's with Manning. We don't need desperation moves. We need to build for the long haul.

Why make any trades?

It just seems like a matter of time before drops cost us a game or games.  Ginn's wide open OT drop last night could've easily been that time.

I just hope that time doesn't come in the playoffs or in a crucial regular season game to decide home field advantage.

agreed and im a bit skeptical about any of the receivers that would even be available at this point in time because most, though they are good and well known, are getting up there in age.  I guess its just the thought of adding another piece that is most certainly missing from the puzzle.  But when you play as a team, that is resilient and gritty you can make up for mistakes like ginns drops.

I just dont want to see it get to crunch time in a play-off game and see what happened last night happen again and it cost us an opportunity when something could of been done before the opportunity arose, if you catch my drift.

I have had a feeling all year that a Ginn/Brown/Bersin drop will cost us our season. Seriously I have nightmares about this. 4th and 6 and at the their 22, down 4, 33 seconds left Cam hits Ginn/Brown/Bersin right between the numbers in the endzone and the ball bounces off of their pads. This awful scenario plays out in my head 6 times a day, at least.

Cam said it best after the game when asked about Ginns drop. "That's just football" There is no guarantee a guy we pick up won't drop a game winner as well. Smitty dropped plenty. That was a knock on Moose early on.

The receivers just need to make the play when it presents itself. Ginn caught a nice slant a few plays after that drop last night. He caught a pivotal pass a couple of years ago when we beat the Patriots. He will drop some more this year probably but that doesn't mean anyone else available can get up to speed with the O to make things much better this year.

This isn't the NBA. Cam could tear his ACL next year and never be the same. You ALWAYS play to win now. If there is a guy out there that will put us over the top you do it.

I have been saying it since we picked up ginn in the first place he is a perfect fit for our style of play.  And i find it amazing how he makes the tough contested catches but fails to pull in the wide open bombs you would expect a guy like ginn to make his bread on.  On those slants it takes more concentration and hands to make than that of those deep bombs all he has to do is reel in.  I have faith in him but those drops are a punch in the gut and its hard to ignore.

Problem is there isn't. Not at a price we are willing to pay. How about 5 first rounders for Julio Jones?

Some receivers are more sure handed than others. Jerry Rice MAY drop the football, but with Ted Ginn you almost expect him to drop it at this point.

Actually the knock on Ginn was alligator arms in traffic when the big hit was about to happen. He has played better for us than anywhere else even with the drops.
