The why thread: Eagles Game

Why do Panther's avoid throwing screen?

Jake was shook up in the Arizona game and instead of rebuilding his confidence they kept throwing on 1st down.

The one screen today to DeA was 15 yds or so.

To offset 10 IN THE BOX, throw a screen. Offset the blitz.

Why do they throw deep balls to Moose? Who is like 36 yrs old.

If I'm a D coordinator, I'm laughing in the film room

So let me get this straight. You view going deep to an old yet servicable guy over getting the ball in the hands of two YOUNG studs out of the backfield. The latter being VERY VERY high %.

Why do some people think the WR corps is really good? They are not.

Again, from the D coordinator's perspective.

Moose. Let him run deep. Now he is useless the next two to three plays. We can go one on one all day.

Jarrett. The strongest laugh comes from the film room because they KNOW Jake is NOT going to throw to Jarrett. Was Jarrett even open today?

Double team SS, he get's a little frustrated.

Face it. The Panthers are a piece of cake to gameplan against.

Do the Panthers either give away their signals or have they been stolen?

Because over and over and over again, Philly was right place right time.

Why don't the Panthers try a pass or something unique when in the Wildcat?

The way they ran it today, it was like somebody forwarding one of those Microsoft will pay you for surfing the net emails. You really think you are cutting edge when everybody else has passed you by.

They line Jake up far outside. Even Stevie Wonder can see he is a non factor so that's easy.

So let's see. #34 is either going right or left.

I think it's impossible to judge the game planning/play calling today. You could say the running game was abandoned too early but that's about it. Hell I think one of Jake's ints was on a screen play.

The bottom line was they blitzed Jake and completely rattled him - and he ended up giving the game away. I've always, always, always defended him but I think he's just done. There's no way he can go back to the QB he was imo.

The problem is that, thinking about it logically, you have to let him start the rest of the season until the season is lost. Giving up on Jake now means giving up on this season.

yep, and after two series on offense opponents know exactly what Carolina is gonna run against them. After listening to opponents the last few years in wins and losses.....it is very obvious Fox is too predictable. That puts an average QB like Jake in a world of trouble.

same plays were called too often. that helps a team know where and when to be....and also helps on regards to bringing the heat.

    • 3rd and Chandler Zavala.......... Id toss in Yohsi or Brano/DJ Johnson if that's what it took to get the trade done.    Bungals need OL B-A-D   Its un-godly to treat a unique HOF level level like Burrow with the OL they have and seems going to this year. People forgot during that bungal SB year, Burrow was sacked like 62 times and I believe had the highest hurries as well. They should be in jail for this, no memeing....
    • I will admit this- Kon doesn't look or play like a 19 year. Much bigger and filled out than I thought he was. Plus initiate the offense during his best quarter and he did make some good passes for FG attempts.   I watch NBA years ago and was a top 3 fantasy yahoo managers for years. Many times a player had like 30 points, it mostly came from one or 2 hot quarters. The others were 5 and 0, so his 16 point game is normal in that regard.    If Ball, bridges, and Miller allow Kon to be apart of the team, just depends on if he clicks of not. Another generic white guy comp popped in my head........he of hornet lore-Gordon Hayward 15 points 5 rebs 3.5 asst Maybe??
