Bright spots

Ok, no need to start anymore negative threads, there are enough of those. So let's take a look at the few positives that I saw in this game. Here they are:

Julius Peppers: He got after it. True, his big plays happened after the game was out of hand, but he was forcing the issue all game. I have no concerns about him.

Captain Munnerlyn: Considering he is a rookie picked in the 7th round, he really held his own out there. He wasn't outstanding, but he did his job and didn't make any critical errors. He earned my trust. He also did a good job returning punts.

Thomas Davis: No explanation necessary.

Damione Lewis: I thought Lewis looked good. He showed a lot of hustle catching several guys from behind and recovering a fumble. I never noticed him getting pushed around either.

Jason Baker: Punted the ball well. Solid punter.

Actually I thought the defense did a pretty good job. Couple of breakdowns but over all not bad.

I was expecting the defense to be absolutely horrible today, and they proved me wrong. They weren't beastly, but they looked a lot better than in the pre-season. Dont' get me wrong. They need to improve, but their pedestrian performance was completely overshadowed by everything that went wrong in the game.

I would add

Louis Leonard: Showed well against the run when he was in, also did well in pass pressure albeit when the game was too far gone.

Johnathan Stewart: What injury?

Mike Goodson: Looked great returning kicks all day. Not so much as the RB

Oh yeah, I meant to include Goodson as KR. He showed his speed and managed to get past the first wave every time he ran with it. Too bad he fumbled as RB.

I think we should stick with Goodson as KR and Munnerlyn as PR. They both did better than I expected.

    • I don't think it's a homer though when I really feel this team can beat anyone.  The points that can be scored in bunches when the big three are on has high potential.  Moose has effort for days and IMO is the heart of the team.  And didn't see Miles becoming the team "vet" in the starting lineup just roleplaying lol.   We have to limit the turnovers though (Brandon Miller I'm looking at you bud, you are a bad ball handler) and some little things.   Colby off the bench is a cheat code and him and Kaulk have a nice little game going with the picks.    Sion playing every game and just getting better each game.  He has grit.  Grant and Green also grit.  We need replace Tillman with PJ Hall though.  Tillman looks like someone that shouldn't be on an NBA court, or at least with this team, he's just too slow for this tempo.   Even McNeely looked decent tonight and can drive.   If Kaulk and Moose could even be like 30% 3pt shooters man....
    • 1.) LaMelo 2.) Kon 3.} Miller 4.. Giannis 5.) Moose   1.) Coby 2.) ? 3.) Sion 4.) Miles Bridges 5.) Kalk That squad would win multiple chips.
